⛵️SOS - Jenner to the Rescue⛵️

In August 2024, Ryan and his crew mate aboard « Sweet Sue » were making their way up the English Channel when severe weather caused both the boom and rudder to fail. After contacting Dover Coastguard, they were guided safely into Folkestone Harbour. 🌊

Needing a replacement rudder, Ryan’s search for materials led him to Jenner Contractors. With support from our Park Farm Joinery team and a lot of hands-on craftsmanship, a new rudder was made from sapele hardwood, shaped, sanded and prepared for fitting with in just a day.👏🏻💚

What started as an unexpected emergency became a great example of teamwork, problem-solving and the willingness to help someone get back on course. ☺️✨

Our latest bespoke project in Folkestone, features a handcrafted Murphy Bed built from beautiful Birch plywood 🌿

When folded down, the bed includes:
• Slide-out bedside shelves
• Adjustable & fixed shelves
• Pillow storage behind the headboard
• Clothes hanging space with cupboard under

When folded away, the space transforms completely and becomes a practical desktop with shelving above — clever design built for modern living ☺️

We also created a bespoke kitchenette featuring:

🎨Hand-painted frontals with clear water-based varnish to showcase the natural Birch ply interior
☕ Slide-out coffee machine shelf
🍽️ Slide-out four-seater dining table
🍴 Integrated pull-out bin & utensil drawers
💨Wall mounted extractor fan
Undermount acrylic bowl set under 12mm solid surface acrylic work top with splash back 🙌🏻

Finished alongside a bespoke Birch plywood sideboard unit with adjustable shelving throughout ✨

After joining Park Farm Joinery in November 2020, our Wood Machinist Graham Hitchcock is officially retiring. 👏🏻✨

Graham’s larger-than-life personality has made a lasting impact, and he will be greatly missed by the entire department. ☺️💚

✨ Best in class — Rosie wins again!! ✨

Superstar apprentice Rosie has taken 1st place in the Skill Build Competition at Oaklands College St Albans, representing EKC Folkestone College, as part of EKC group.🏆👏

Tasked with building a complex frame featuring mortice & tenon, stub tenon, and mitred comb joints—along with stopped chamfers and a curved bottom rail—she delivered outstanding work, showcasing the skills she’s been developing under our Joinery guidance. 🤗👏🏻

Seeing the fabulous project at igtham mote featured at this month’s constructing excellence kent club meeting, we decided to take a lookback at the high-quality, bespoke joinery items that our team produced that gave the finishing touches to this niche heritage project. 🙌🏻💚

We were delighted to supply much needed materials for this beautifully designed miniature town with a supermarket, construction site, post office, vets, bakery, fire station and more. It’s a place where children step into little worlds and learn through imagination, language, social play and confidence-building experiences. 😄

Casting our eyes back to the exceptional joinery items that were crafted by our in-house team at Park Farm Joinery on behalf of Jenner Contractors in delivering the Pittsmead Grange Care Home in Bromley last year. 🏡🤗

From the supply and installation of softwood balustrading for the staircases, to a moisture-resistant MDF reception shelving unit and a TV unit finished with solid oak lacquered batten, it all completes the scheme perfectly to the extremely high standards of quality demanded of a project of this nature. 👏🏻✨
