I have a request to ask you all. We are researching a few subjects for next year but with one particular subject, we can only find a completion month. With postmarks, we will need an exact date.
I'm looking for more precise information regarding LNER P1 2393. We know that it was running on the 2nd of July 1925 but only that it was completed the previous month. Can anyone point me in the direction of a website or organisation that might be able to help?

Also, for the North Norfolk Railway, I'm looking for the date of the first public passenger service, in preservation. Again, I can only find a month, not an exact date. Having been there only a few months ago, I'm ashamed to say that, although I saw plenty of photos of the event, I can't remember the date!

Any help will be much appreciated!

London & North Western Railway 175th Anniversary - 16th July 2021

Formed on the 16th July 1846 by the amalgamation of the Grand Junction Railway, London and Birmingham Railway, and the Manchester and Birmingham Railway. This cover features a black & white image of Queen Victoria's Royal Train on the London & North Western Railway.

New Tay Bridge 125th Anniversary - 13th July 2012

Our collectable showcases the commissioned painting by artist John Wigston. The Tay Bridge carries the railway across the Firth of Tay in Scotland between Dundee and the suburb of Wormit in Fife. Its span is 2.75 miles. It is the second bridge to occupy the site.

Bridgnorth Cliff Railway 125th Anniversary - 7th July 2017

The railway opened on 7th July 1892. The ceremony was performed by the Mayor, John Anderson. To commemorate the event, the local townspeople were granted a public holiday. Between July and September 1892, the railway served over 50,000 passengers.
