Hi my friends its that time of year again the Perseids meteor show. Each year people ask me wear to look, some say it does not matter but for me I always find it better to look south east.
I was up at 01.30 am to have a look even when its not the height of the shower i still managed to see some very beautiful meteors coming over my head and i live in the middle of Folkestone so it is always nice to see.
On the 12 this Friday Earth will go through the stream two times first time will be in the afternoon from 14.00 untill 16.30 and again in the morning 01.30 and 0.500 in the morning.
Last year I see a meteor in the day time heading towards Dover it was a beautiful sight to see in the day time so different then at night.
So my friends go out side and look up you might just something that will change your out look on who we are.
Kind regards

A large cluster of objects in space look like something you would "expect an alien civilization to build", astronomers have said.   Jason Wright, an astronomer from Penn State University, is set to publish a report on the “bizarre” star system - suggesting the objects could be a “swarm of megastruct...

As i am off work for a bit ripped leg muscle from cycling to much this gives me a little time to right things about Astronomy.
OK today i have been thinking about first contact. No not the star trek film but what it would mean to us right hear right now.
Lets say that project Starshot works and we send the small computers to find life on Alpha centauri what will the next step be.
If life is found ?
How do we as a species think about intelligent life ? Does alien life lets call it IL have to be walking on two legs ? does it have to able to speak ? does it have to able to right books as we know it or make masterpieces of art ? does it have to do the basic function as we take for granted each day is that a IL aliens ?
Well I believe that it is none of the above and I say why.
As we come even more clever looking into the night sky trying to understand it we might just be the only people hear and we will never find any body else because there is nobody else just us.
Or we do find life on Alfa centauri and we might be able to watch them from space will we be able to understand there way of life there symbols there righting there way of doing basic function of there life.
They might be four legged, cold blooded walking lumps of green goo who knows what we might find.
I believe if we found IL aliens then wow the shock that it would bring around the world that we are not alone would be mind bending, but we as Humans would have to watch and understand there way of life before we made first contact.
The only problem is as Humans we are really useless at watching. All you have to do look at are history the wars we have done to each other because we did not understand are own people let alone IT aliens.
So if we find aliens then i hope we do have the IT to watch first before we make First contact or go in with all guns blazing because we do not understand there way of life.
They might have a different God to us they might even be as crazy and worship the sun lol.
Only time will tell on what we might find out there one day we will find out or give up knowing we are alone.
Yours
kInd regards

Reading in a magazine about stars that might go supernova.
As most people know Betelgeuse is the star that at any time will go supernova, we have not seen it yet as it is 640 light years away from us.
They say it will with in the 100.000 years go super nova so some thing that we will not see in are life time I think. But for myself the thought that we can even think like this or even look at stars like this is mind bending.
Now to a different topic.
The news that we will find a habitable planet with intelligent life in the next 10 years is unreal. We have only been on Earth a little time compared to other worlds and we want to find others already, OK lets say we do what do we do about it the ethical dilemma about finding this second world would be again mind bending.
Do we watch them like lab rats. Do we try and make contact. Do we pat are self on the back and keep on looking for other planets. May be the planet we find has not the tech savvy to talk to us but they know a planet that can and do we want them to contact us big brother dilemma.
It goes on and on I would like to hear your thoughts on this matter we might not all agree about it but I do believe we have to think about it soon.
