How can it be the Easter weekend already?

Quick year so far, or what ⚠️

Well, definitely a quick year so far, but also a very quick 15 years since the HBB GeoSales Ltd journey began ✅

On the 1st April just past, we celebrated 15 years of the business being operational 😎💚

During the rollercoaster that is business life, it’s not very often you give yourself time to reflect on what has been achieved, usually your always thinking about what needs done tomorrow 😁

However, after having to take some unplanned time out the business recently, and this time coinciding with our 15th year birthday 🎈I have spent some time reflecting on the last 15 years 💚

Long story short: my best achievement is my family, my close circle of friends and the relationships and friendships I have built with our team, clients and supply partners 💚

The biggest lesson learnt: always be brutally honest with yourself, if you do that, it’s easy be honest with everyone else 💚😎

Thanks to all who have been part of the last 15 years.

Here goes the next 15 years and beyond ✅

Big shoutout to our very own Fraser Guthrie who has successfully passed his plastic welder entry level in accordance with CSWIP requirements 💚

Fraser joined us early last year straight from leaving school, straight away Fraser displayed a great work ethic and a real willingness to learn.

After completing his CSCS card last year, Fraser made a number of installation trips, on the back of enjoying the travelling side of the job, combined with his continued work ethic and desire to learn, we made the decision to start Fraser on his plastic welding journey ✅

At only 17 years old, Fraser joins Scott Lawson (18 years old), Kieran McGhee (20 years old), Liam Devine (23 years old) and Sean Timmons (33 years old) within our developing welding team, which further supports our medium to long term growth plans, as well as ensuring there is a reinforcement of young blood into the plastic welding industry.

Our young team range from 2 to 3 years in their plastic welding journey, all supported and led by our experienced lead techs Paul Bryar and Paul Oakley 😎

Well done to Fraser, we are all proud of your development so far, and look forward to supporting your future growth.

Yesterday we had our Christmas Day out at Forfar Athletic Football Club (Official) hospitality suites.

A great day was had by all, big thanks to Kev Torrie for looking after us so well.

In what has been a record trading year for the business, the holiday period is one we are all looking forward to and the team certainly deserve the pending chill time.

We very much appreciate all the effort and hard work everyone puts in on a daily basis.

⚠️Stolen Equipment⚠️

Last night (the evening of Tuesday 25th Nov) we had a 20kva towable generator stolen from a locked site in Accrington.

Onsite CCTV along with other CCTV from near by businesses have picked up the culprits and their vehicle.

Police have been informed.

If anyone is offered a towable 20kva generator or hears of one being punted around please give us a shout.

A lost day on site along with significant replacement cost.

We are obviously insured, but with that comes excess and increased policy costs for next year !

No sign of Justin Bieber🎤 , Rory McIlroy 🏌️‍♂️or Andy Murray🎾 in St Andrews today, just the HBB GeoSales Ltd hydroseeding team helping out a repeat client on a new course on the outskirts of the home of golf.

HBB turning the fairways green; with some nice detailed hydromulching by Liam Devine.

Fortunately the weather is mild and has calmed down so the boys can crack on as there's a lot of work to do!

A few weeks ago we supplied 3 fabricated panels of our HBB 300 geotextile for the separation layer within the construction of a horse school.

3 panels x 20.3m x 30.6 were fabricated within our workshop and then shipped to site.

We then supplied an installation supervisor to assist the clients team with the onsite deployment.

The 3 panels were installed within the hour, with only 2 onsite stitch joins required.

Great work from our 20 year old installation technician, Kieran McGhee.

Once the job was finished, our client Blair Equibuild Ltd sent me a message complimenting young Kieran:

Well done Kieran!

Kieran joined us as a 17 year and is now into his 2nd years training as a geosynthetic welding technician, which sees him travel across the UK and Ireland installing a wide range of geosynthetic liners, barriers, covers and geotextiles.

As Blair said, Kieran has a tremendous work ethic and is shaping into another young person HBB success story, with 40% of our staff being between 16 and 23 years old……showing that there is plenty of brilliant and hard working young ones within our area 💚

Well done Keezer, keep pushing on!
