Out and about in Achnasheen last week.

The team’s been busy installing heat pumps, helping bring low carbon heating to homes in this remote but beautiful part of the Highlands.

Air source heat pumps are a fantastic way to heat your home using energy from the air. When designed and installed properly, they provide reliable, efficient heating all year round.

Every property is different, so we always take the time to make sure each system is set up to perform at its best for the long term. It’s work we enjoy - especially in places like this!

If you’re thinking about a heat pump for your home or project, drop us a message or give us a call on 01309 676911 and we’ll talk you through your options.

After completing this install last year, we were really pleased to get back out to visit this 276 panel installation at St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh.

By delivering a solar solution that supports both sustainability and essential community care through the use of SolarEdge Technologies Inc. inverters, the system is already making a real impact, having replaced around 40% of the hospice’s annual electricity consumption.

It’s always a privilege to support organisations making a real difference while taking steps towards a greener future!

Yesterday, Dan, Kate and Jamie were on site in Inverness, with first fix now complete for the solar PV and battery system.

Dan (Senior Heating Engineer) and Kate (Project Manager) are getting things ready for the underfloor heating and heat pump next, and it’s starting to take shape, going to be a lovely home.

It’s great to be involved from the early stages!

“Feeling good energy.”

Last week, we shared a bit more about who we are now as aes renewables. This week, we want to explain what sits behind our strapline.

Because “Feeling good energy.” isn’t just something we say.

It’s what we want people to experience when they work with us.

Because good energy isn’t just what we generate. It’s how people feel by working with us - confident in their decisions, clear on what they’re getting, and looked after from start to finish.

We’ve always believed renewable energy should feel right. Not complicated or uncertain. Just carefully thought through, clearly explained, and done the way it should be.

For us, that comes down to a few simple things. Systems that work as they should. Clear, honest guidance. And a team that takes pride in how everything is designed, installed and looked after over time.

That’s what “Feeling good energy.” means to us.

Feeling good energy.

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Jacob, our SolarEdge Technologies Inc. Sales Manager, to our Forres office!

Jacob spent time with both our sales and technical teams, sharing the latest product updates and some really useful tips on getting the most out of SolarEdge Designer.

He then joined Jamie and Emma on a site visit to a local commercial PV system installation (soon to be equipped with two 100kW SolarEdge inverters!) to discuss the technology in a real world setting.

Now that’s feeling good energy.

Great to see a brilliant milestone for a long-standing partner.

We joined the team at AW Laing on Saturday for the opening of their new timber manufacturing workshop and office. It marks another milestone for a business that’s been building homes since 1921.

For over a century, they’ve built a reputation on quality and craftsmanship. That’s why our partnership works. It’s built on trust, shared standards and doing things properly.

Fergus Ewing cut the ribbon, marking the next chapter for a proud, family-run business. It was a fantastic day learning more about their history and meeting the people behind the work.

AW Laing Ltd also raised funds for Mikeysline and Grantown Festive Lights through a raffle. It was a great effort for local causes.

Congratulations to everyone at AW Laing. We’re proud to work alongside you.

You might have known us as AES Solar.

In December, we became aes renewables. A new name, one team and a clearer way of doing things.

Established in 1979, we’ve been working in renewable energy for decades. Since then, we’ve been quietly getting on with what we do best. But we haven’t properly explained the thinking behind the change and that feels important.

So why did we rebrand?

It wasn’t about starting over. It was about bringing everything together under one name, making it simpler for customers and communities to understand who we are and how we work.

What hasn’t changed matters just as much.

The same people. The same standards. What’s new is how clearly we can show what we stand for.

We design with care, install with pride, and support our customers for the long term.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll talk more about what this means - our story, our values, and the thinking behind our strapline “Feeling good energy.”

Because it’s not just a name change, it’s a clearer promise.

Feeling good energy.

We’re really pleased to have recently completed a 17.35 kWp Viridian Solar PV system on a 19th century church in Grantown‑on‑Spey, following approval from Highland councillors.

Installed as an in‑roof system, the project shows how solar can be carefully integrated into historic buildings without compromising their character, all while helping to tackle high energy costs and support a more sustainable future.

It’s great to see more heritage buildings embracing renewable energy!

Big thanks to Badenoch Roofing Ltd for their fantastic work and collaboration on this project. 👏

A great day on Wednesday at aes renewables welcoming a group of Growing2gether students from Inverness Royal Academy!

Growing2gether is a charity which empowers young people aged 14-16 through mentoring opportunities. The students enjoyed a tour of our premises, getting a behind the scenes look at what we do here.

They also heard from Kiera and Callum, who delivered two engaging presentations about the company and shared insights into their roles and experiences within the industry. It’s always a joy to support opportunities like this and help inspire the next generation by showcasing the variety of careers available in renewables.

Thank you to ForresmechanicsOfficial for letting us use your boardroom space.
