Inbetween the lousey weather we’ve had last 2 weeks, i have managed to get 1 half of the wall harled in St combs

Guttering job completed at New Deer, some of these photos are work in progress, so may not be completely finished work, anyway the old gutters were running the wrong way, over flowing and a bit flimsy in parts, new deep flow gutters were installed, all running and draining properly, more brackets was added to support the gutters and are now firmly held in place.

Got a good few days work renewing guttering on this house, just outside New Deer, clearing the roof of debris first, then renewing the guttering that was running the wrong way, and not enough brackets holding them in place. Its important to try have a few jobs or D.I.Y projects up my sleeve for rainy days. Although i could be harling under a shelter, ive decided to start and finish this little slab path, to keep the sillar rolling in, here is some before and after photos. Being a rental property the customer wanted to keep costs low, so replace like for like was done. There is a large patio area at the back the customer would also like done.

This customer got in contact with me last year, after a harling job he had done had failed. The new harling and the older 60-70 year old render underneath was removed, revealing quite a lot of cracks in the wall due to settlement and old failing lintols and millions. The customer being in his 70’s was advised to just repair the wall and reharl as best as could be done, realising that walls move and crack over time and not wasting thousands of pounds to renew the lintols and millions, where that money could be spent on more important things 😉 however if you want lintols, millions or sills replaced, i can do that.
Anyway the wall was grinded to give a key, washed and coated with sbr then scratchcoated and render meshed to get it as flat as i could, now its ready to be harled.
If your walls are tired looking or theres failing harling, get in contact for a price.
It roughly costs 3 or 4 times the price to take old harling off and reharl, than it does to harl over the top of old harling, this can be done, as long as the old harling has a good hold of the wall underneath, i have done many houses like that most are at the 15 year stage with no problems, 1 of them is at the 23 year stage, and of course there is some that have been done in the last 10 years.

That's this 2x2 slab patio finished, customers very pleased with it, and so am I. Nice and smooth looking, with a gentle uniform slope away from the buildings. The owners will finish the edges off with a chuckie boarder. A before and after photo is included below. The next job is St. Combs harling the side of a house.

Got sand and cement delivered to site by myself yesterday, and now started to lay the patio today. Easy access required for older people so no steps or steep slopes. If you require something similar, get in contact.
