Ever wondered how a gas turbine generates electricity?

A Day in the Life of a Field Service Engineer (Gas Turbines) 🔧🔥

06:00 – Alarm goes off. Quick coffee, then straight to site. Today: planned inspection on a gas turbine.

07:30 – Safety briefing. No shortcuts—permits, PPE, and job scope review come first.

08:30 – Turbine isolated. First look inside after shutdown. You’re checking for wear, deposits, and anything that shouldn’t be there.

10:30 – Borescope inspection. This is where experience matters—tiny defects can mean big problems later.

12:30 – Lunch… usually quick, sometimes skipped.

13:00 – Hands-on work. Measurements, cleaning, part replacements, documenting everything.

15:30 – Unexpected issue shows up (it always does). Now it’s problem-solving mode:
What’s the root cause? Can we fix it on-site?

17:30 – Wrap-up. Reports, photos, and planning for tomorrow.

19:00 – Back at the hotel. Tired, covered in grease—but that’s part of the job.
