Gill and her husband had already done what most people are told to do.

Downsized.
Used less energy.
Moved into a smaller, more efficient home.

Gill realised the system only works if you stay dependent on it.

Anthony wanted something different.

Back in 2015, Anthony installed solar panels. BUT battery storage was massively expensive and physically huge.

Fast forward to today, and for roughly the same investment, he’s now added modern battery storage, giving him far greater control over how and when his home uses energy.

The technology has moved fast.

Better batteries.
Smarter systems.
More energy independence.

This is what “then vs now” in solar really looks like.

When we started to get involved with Frome Boulder Rooms on their renewables journey, what struck us was their role in bringing together people from all walks of life around a shared experience.
