We are happy to provide this letter of recommendation for ADL Builders (NE) Ltd, who recently completed an extension on our bungalow.
From the initial meeting, Alan demonstrated a high level of professionalism, clear communication, and attention to detail. He recommended, when asked, other tradesmen who also worked to a very high standard. The project involved a single storey extension, changes to layout, new roof, removal of 2 fireplaces, new kitchen space and living area and upgrading throughout.
The whole project was completed to a very high standard and throughout the build, Alan was reliable, punctual, well organised and went above and beyond in some instances (dealing with numerous changes to the layout etc, and supporting us to remain in the bungalow during the works). The work was carried out safely and tidily, with respect for our home and the neighbours. Communication throughout was excellent and any issues that arose were discussed and resolved promptly, and we were kept informed of progress at all stages.
The quality of workmanship was excellent from Alan and his skilled team, and the project was completed within the agreed timeframe. The finished extension has significantly improved our home, and we are extremely pleased.
We would not hesitate to recommend ADL Builders (NE) Ltd to anyone considering building or extension work. They are skilled, dependable, and take real pride in their work.

To whom It may concern,
Getting any kind of building work done, especially to your home, is often fraught with worry and anxiety. There are many questions that float through your head: Are they cowboys? Are they going to blow the budget/vastly exceed the quote? Are they going to start and then disappear? Is it going to take 2 years instead of the projected 2 months? Once you start thinking about building work, you can count on starting losing sleep turning over these questions.
It is worth mentioning that my architect stumbled across ADL as they were working on a house in his neighbourhood and he watched their progress when out walking his dog daily. I remember him telling me that he was impressed by the way they kept the site tidy, the work looked good from afar, and continued to do so after completion.
We did due diligence and obtained quotes from various builders, but we instantly got a good feeling from ADL and after all was said and done, were pleased with the quote and felt confident in going forward with them.
They started on time, were consistently on site and kept things very tidy which is no mean feat on a build. Given we were getting quite a large extension done and were living in the house at the time, it was as tidy and non-invasive as possible. Any delays were not due to the builders. In fact, when we had an extensive delay due to Northern Grid, ADL were very patient and understanding. I suspect they lost a bit of work as a result as our build was now going over schedule, but they were kind about it. They constantly kept us up to date, answered any questions and were polite and approachable. They kept within the budget or rather any overages were down to us adding more work or changing some specifications. I think they quoted well so there were no surprises or unexpected costs. In part that may be because luckily our house did not throw up any major surprises, but I also think they carefully looked at the plans and specifications and quoted accordingly.
I can honestly say that I never felt I had hired the wrong building company, nor did I have any worries about their work. I never lost sleep over the building work and I think that is saying something.
Overall, my husband and I found them to be professional, unfazed by some of my more out there ideas, diligent and hard working. I would happily recommend them and still have a few more projects to do on our house and hope to have them back when we are ready to tackle them. Most importantly, the work has now been completed for two years and looks as good now as when it was finished.
