If you farm or manage land in England, there is some genuinely useful news worth knowing about.
The Government has just announced the DEFRA 2026 Capital Grants scheme, with £225 million available to support farmers and landowners with practical environmental improvements. That includes hedgerow planting, drainage and water management, soil protection, farm infrastructure upgrades and biodiversity work.
In short, funding that helps you do the kind of work that often gets pushed down the list because of the cost.
At Bain & Morton, we can help at both ends of the process. We can support you with understanding your options and preparing your application, and then deliver the physical works once funding is confirmed, to the standards the scheme requires.
Hedgerows, drainage, groundworks, access roads and land improvements are all things we do day in, day out across Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. If you are thinking about applying, now is the time to start planning.
