Cley | Iroko detailing 🪵

Some beautiful Iroko work coming together at Cley.

The horizontal Iroko cladding is being fitted across the gable elevations, alongside bespoke Iroko barge board detailing to frame the roofline - with plenty of careful measuring and cutting to achieve those crisp junctions and clean lines.

Iroko is a great choice for external work thanks to its strength, durability and natural resistance to moisture and weathering. The warm golden-brown tones look incredible now and, if left to weather naturally, will gradually develop a distinctive silver-grey patina.

A seriously smart finish taking shape. 👌

Setting out the first of three dormers over at Brancaster with Curtis & Wright Construction 🔨

The roof is really starting to take shape now, with the first dormer being formed and those incredible views already framed perfectly.

Built around the steel ridge beam, the team are currently forming the rooflight openings and constructing the dormers.

A lot of work and craftsmanship going into this one - and you can really start to see the scale of the roof now.

Another roof taking shape over at Cley for Grocott & Murfit 🔨

This hand-cut roof features two valleys and four individual rafter bays, all coming together beautifully with a lovely flat finish. It’s always satisfying to see the precision that goes into this stage of the build.

Now it’s over to the roofing team for the Celotex insulation before the slates start going on.

A productive week on site across Norfolk, with the team making great progress on projects of all sizes.

Here’s a look at one of our North Norfolk builds, where the roof structure is really starting to take shape. Every rafter, beam and connection is carefully set out, bringing another part of this incredible Curtis & Wright Construction home to life.

It’s always rewarding to step back at the end of the week and see just how much has been achieved. Looking forward to seeing this one continue to evolve over the coming weeks.

Ladder work taking shape over at Cley. 🪚

The Lilywhites Carpentry Services team have been busy installing the ladder framing to the gable end, creating the structure that will support the fascia and soffit. It’s one of those details that might not be seen once the project is complete, but it’s an important part of building a strong, accurate roof.
