Land Energy - Sustainable Leaders in our Industry - NetZero. The quantity of ash is also set by ENPlus A1 at < 0.7% allowable ash per Kg of pellets burnt.

Our goal is to help our customers switch from fossil fuels and decrease their carbon footprint in an economically sensible way. Offering a secure wood pellet supply chain from buying raw wood fibre to manufacturing - all within the UK. As the UK’s largest wood pellet manufacturer we provide multi-year, fixed price fuel supply contracts. Our wood pellets only contain sustainable feedstock, sourced from UK forests, providing a reliable long-term fuel source to our customers. We are an accredited Biomass Suppliers’ List (BSL) source of wood pellets, are FSC®-certified (FSC-C120441) and use FSC®-certified sources of wood fibre either in the form of sawmill co-products and surplus logs. Our confidence in Land Energy Pellets enables us to guarantee a minimum of 4,800 KWh of heat per tonne. Land Energy Pellets have an average ash content of < 0.2%, therefore generating an industry-wide low of 10kg of ash for every 5 tonnes burnt. Sustainable Leaders in our Industry. We take the sustainability of our wood pellets very seriously and question every step of our process. Land Energy has been awarded the only globally recognised Certification Mark for Sustainability for being part of UNESCO’s Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Reserve which is recognised internationally as a world-class environment for people and nature. The raw material that comes into our plant comes from forests within 80 miles of the factory. The forests we use have felling licences and every tree that is felled is replanted, typically within 12 months. The logs we use are those that are rejected by the sawmill sector, either due to the size or shape of the timber. Logs that are too skinny, large or bent are scooped up by land Energy and put to good use in our production plant.

Scotland’s recycling rate has fallen to its lowest level in five years we all have a part to play. ♻️

Here in South Ayrshire, home to our Girvan factory, the recycling rate reached 55.1% in 2025 the highest in Scotland! 🙌

At Land Energy, our FREE bag recycling scheme turns empty packaging into benches, planters and decking here in the UK.

Alongside responsible sourcing and biomass powered production, it’s how we’re doing our bit.

Thank you to our staff and customers for making it happen! 💚

🌱 Proud to support the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere and Ayrshire Tree Planting Scheme, helping communities and landowners grow a greener future, one tree at a time! 🌳

Tree planting season is here - get your spades at the ready!

Building on the success of previous years, the GSA Biosphere and Ayrshire Tree Planting Scheme is continuing through 2026/27. Grants of up to £1,000 are available for planting native trees in South and East Ayrshire within the UNESCO Biosphere region.

Funding is available to landowners, individuals and organisations to plant trees on less than 0.25 hectares (0.6 acres). Previous projects have included orchards, small copses, field boundary trees, and riverside trees.

Jack Barton, GSA Biosphere's Nature Recovery Officer, is at hand to offer advice and answer any queries.

More information on our website: https://ow.ly/jaN650ZVMW2

This project is funded by South Ayrshire Council, Scottish Forestry, and Land Energy and is administered by the Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Partnership.

It was a pleasure to welcome Senga Beresford MSP to meet the Land Energy team.

We had a really positive discussion around our free recycling scheme, apprenticeships, charity work, and how we can help educate the next generation through projects such as Doonfoot School and the Countryside Classroom.

Thank you to Senga and Jayde for taking the time to visit and for their encouraging support.

Staying ahead of the game.

The Land Energy team attended an important industry roundtable on Defra’s solid fuel burning consultation, covering increased fines, stricter smoke limits, health warning labels, fuel labelling and enforcement.

With the government response expected before the end of the year, it’s vital that we stay informed, involved and ready for what comes next.

As a responsible fuel supplier, we’re committed to supporting clear standards, cleaner burning and better understanding across the sector. HETAS Woodsure
