Hello everyone! It's been a while since we’ve properly posted on here, so we’ve uploaded plenty of photos from our travels over the past couple of months.

Since the last post we have installed in Paisley, Shawlands, Isle of Bute, Dumbarton, Kippford, Partick, Milngavie, Newton Mearns, Eaglesham, Helensbugh, Loch Gilphead to name a few!

From full fireplace transformations and stove installations to island trips, sweeping work and everything in between, it’s been non stop recently and we honestly appreciate how busy everyone has kept us.

A lot of hard work going on behind the scenes just now as the business continues to grow, with exciting plans ahead over the next year.

We cover all across Scotland and take a huge amount of pride in carrying out installations properly, safely and to a high standard.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a stove installed, upgrading an existing fire, or booking in a chimney sweep/service before winter creeps back round, feel free to get in touch.

Thanks again to all our customers for the continued support.

Hello everyone I'm off this week for the Easter holidays so will be a bit slower getting back to enquiries, the boys are out carrying out annual sweep and services so any issues get in touch and they will sort you out.

Many thanks

Dominic

Another succesful trip to Islay and Jura completed. Relieved to get on the standby ferry yesterday before the storm hit or we would have been stranded for several days! 4 stoves installed in total this time and will be back again in the better weather when the shiny new ferry arrives to do a few more!

Hello everyone hope your all well and getting through the winter ok, keeping toasty in front of those fires!

Here are some photographs of January's adventures, racking up those miles as always, poor wee van is taking a pounding!

With installs carried out in Bridge of Earn, Dunoon x2, Dumbarton, Kircaldy, Hollybush house (Ayr), Isle of Bute x3, Newton Mearns x2, Cathcart, Clachan (near Tarbet/Loch Gilphead). Also throw in a failed trip to Islay and Jura due to a generator issues on the ferry so will be doing that next month now!

As always we are taking enquiries so if your thinking of getting a stove installed or needing your serviced get in touch and we can talk you through the process and give you a no obligation quotation.

Hope you enjoy the photos of some of the installs!

Many thanks,
Dominic

Hi everyone had a few calls recently on this subject so I've shared this important information. Your stove will behave differently in cold temperatures especially twin wall flue systems so please stick to the following rules...

Leave the door open on the stove for 30mins before lighting, making sure the room is well ventilated, no extractor fans running etc.

Air control fully open and chuck a few firelighters in for 5mins before adding kindling.

Start off small and build the fire up using kindling only for a good ten mins before adding logs. If this is not followed it can result in smoke coming out the back of the stove where the air inlet is located as the chimney is not drawing.

When your going to bed leave the air control fully open dont add logs make sure the fire is almost on its way out, closing the air control down (slumbering) the stove can result in the heavier cold air from the outside cold plugging the flue causing smoke to come back down the chimney.

Check your Carbon Monoxide alarm is still fully operational by pushing the test button.

Many thanks

Dominic

An unexpected issue for stove users during winter can be a cold plug in their flue - HETAS offers advice to help resolve this problem.
