🚨 Boiler running non-stop? Here's what we found on a call-out in Airdrie today.
A customer got in touch because their heating system simply wouldn't shut down. After some quick diagnostics, we traced the issue to an old Potterton cylinder thermostat that had failed completely. Swiping to the second photo shows the scorched board and melted terminals inside—the fault had locked the system into permanent hot water demand, wasting fuel and risking overheating.
We stripped it out and wired in a brand new Honeywell cylinder stat, getting the temperature properly regulated and the system running efficiently again.
