Our annual staff seminar took place in Glasgow and Edinburgh, bringing colleagues together from across the business to share updates, discuss upcoming projects, and reflect on the year so far.

As well as providing an opportunity to review our progress and future priorities, the seminars gave colleagues time to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.

These events play an important role in maintaining collaboration and ensuring everyone is aligned as we continue to grow.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the events such a positive and productive experience.

Following the Union Street fire earlier this year, voco Grand Central Hotel entrusted us with carrying out the reinstatement works at this iconic A-listed Glasgow landmark.

We are delighted that the hotel has now completed a partial re-opening that includes the much-loved Champagne Central. Works will continue in carefully planned phases over the coming months as we support the hotel's journey back to its former condition.

We look forward to helping bring the next chapter of this landmark building's restoration to life.

Congratulations to our apprentice, Ben, on passing his trade test! 👏🏻

Over the past four years, Ben has gone from strength to strength, growing in his knowledge and skills in joinery.

Our Workshop Manager, Ross MacLeod, said, "Ben has been a steady performer throughout his apprenticeship and handled any projects thrown at him with relative ease. Nearing the end of his time, he has now taken another apprentice under his wing to help bring through the next generation."

It is our privilege to invest in the next generation of skilled tradespeople, and we're thrilled to have played a part in Ben's journey.

A major milestone reached on site with the scaffold officially down - a clear sign the project is nearing completion.

With the façade now fully visible, the external works are in their final stages, including the installation of solar panels on the roof.

Internally, decoration is well underway across multiple floors, with furniture now installed throughout the upper levels as the project continues to take shape.

Attention is turning to the final internal works and finishing touches as the team pushes towards the finish.

We look forward to sharing the final result in the near future!

A fantastic afternoon at the SPIFOX Glasgow Lunch alongside our friends at Doig + Smith.

It was great to see so many from across the property and construction industry come together in support of such worthwhile causes. SPIFOX continues to make a real difference to children and young people across Scotland through its fundraising efforts, and we're proud to play a small part in supporting that work.

Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering another successful event, which raised an incredible £152,700 for Scottish children's charities.

We have now completed the Prestwick Golf Club refurbishment! ⛳

Our team transformed the upstairs clubhouse into a world-class facility, giving guests an enhanced dining experience with expanded seating and improved course views.

Our Manufactured Joinery division crafted bespoke joinery for the club. This featured a custom-built reception desk and bar, along with other high-quality joinery, each designed to reflect the building’s heritage while providing modern functionality and a refined finish.

It’s been an honour to contribute to the ongoing story of Prestwick Golf Club, creating spaces that honour its rich history while providing a world-class experience for today’s members and visitors.

Last week, we welcomed representatives from Holmes Miller, South Ayrshire Council, and Alliance Leisure to talk about the next stages of the Troon Leisure Club project.

This was a great opportunity to discuss what's next for the project and to introduce all the teams to our manufactured joinery processes at our workshop.

At TJL, we're all about people. We value ongoing partnerships and bringing projects to life through shared expertise. It was a productive day of ideas and insights as we continue to move the project forward together.

Residence Inn by Marriott in Edinburgh is our latest hotel refurbishment.

Designed by Bell & Swift, we transformed the public spaces and 107 bedrooms to create a refreshed, modern look for the hotel.

We care about the details. From specialist-manufactured joinery to leading the whole project, we ensure the highest quality at every stage of the process.

Delivering excellence since 1868.

Project completion at The PEAK 🏋🏻

We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of works at The PEAK, transforming part of the existing sports hall into new, high-quality fitness and studio spaces for the local community.

The project repurposed three courts to create two new ground-floor studios and an extended first-floor gym, delivered via a new mezzanine structure. The specification carefully considered fire and acoustic performance to ensure safe, high-performing spaces throughout.

Delivered through the UK Leisure Framework, the project was led by Alliance Leisure with Thomas Johnstone Ltd as main contractor, alongside a full professional team including CD Architects, Axiom Project Services, Struer, Wallace Whittle, ABT Safety, and Hutchi.

The PEAK remained operational throughout the works, with minimal disruption to users, ensuring the centre could continue to serve the community during construction.

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week has the theme of Action, and we’re highlighting the importance of turning awareness into meaningful support for mental wellbeing at work and beyond.

At TJL, we have trained mental health first aiders across the business who are equipped to act and support our teams. They are helping to encourage open, honest conversations around mental health when they’re needed most.

In conjunction, we’re proud to partner with SAMH, who provide vital mental health support services across Scotland. In August, some of our colleagues will be taking on a 10K run to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Mental health matters every week, and this year’s theme reminds us that awareness is only the beginning. Action is what makes the difference.
