Last week was our 30th boiler installation of the year and how appropriate it was a nearly 30 year old Worcester Bosch we were replacing.

The customer had this fitted way back in 1998 (when I was still at school 🤣). We have now replaced it with another Worcester Bosch 8000 + with 12 year manufacturers guarantee (not warranty!).

We are now concentrating on boiler replacements and repairs for the remainder of the year.

We had new addition to the team out with us today.

Jack is currently doing a plumbing and heating apprenticeship based on new build sites.

He was needing evidence of doing servicing and repair work for his portfolio and due to being on building sites he wasn’t getting the chance to do this. He got in touch and I was happy to help.

I’ve know Jack since he was a young boy and it’s great to see him now as young man and see how far he has come in his apprenticeship. It’s great to see young people still eager to learn a trade nowadays, there is a massive skills shortage due to people retiring and nobody coming in behind to replace them.

Well done Jack and best wishes for the future.

IDEAL LOGIC / KESTON BOILERS, RISK OF FIRE, PRODUCT RECALL.

There has been a safety recall issued for IDEAL LOGIC and KESTON boilers manufactured from August 2022 to January 2024.

These boilers are popular in new build estates and if you want to check to see if your boiler is one of the affected models then you are advised to log onto www.Idealsupport.co.uk or contact them on 0808 175 9173.

The advice from ideal is the boiler can still be used and the pressure should be kept at 1.5 bar minimum.

In a small proportion of the affected range of boilers (approximately 1 in 10,000), if an excessive volume of air has become trapped inside the boiler in a fault condition, it could cause the boiler to overheat and fail.
