Our Facilities Management team has successfully completed the installation of a new heating and cooling air conditioning system within the clubhouse offices at Dumbarnie Links Dumbarnie Golf Links

Recognised as one of Scotland's premier links golf courses, Dumbarnie Links is renowned for its outstanding facilities and spectacular coastal setting. We were delighted to support the team by delivering an upgraded climate control solution that will provide a comfortable working environment throughout the year.

The project was carefully planned to meet a tight programme, with the installation required to be completed within five working days ahead of the course reopening. Thanks to detailed planning and close collaboration with the Dumbarnie Links team, the project was completed on time and exactly as planned.

A big thank you to the team at Dumbarnie Links for the opportunity to work on such a fantastic facility and to our engineers for another high-quality project delivered.

PREAH has been awarded the full mechanical and electrical Category B fit out of Level 3 at The Culzean, a prominent city-centre building on Renfield Street, Glasgow.

The 16-week programme will involve the strip out of existing MEP services followed by the installation of new air conditioning, ventilation grilles, lighting, small power and sanitaryware. The project will be delivered for new client WMR Contractors Ltd, with PREAH's M&E Project Managers leading the works.

The appointment follows the successful delivery of similar MEP services on another floor of The Culzean, reflecting the quality of work previously carried out by the PREAH team within the building.

Located on busy Renfield Street, The Culzean is fitted out to an exceptionally high standard and occupies one of Glasgow city centre’s notable historic commercial buildings. Originally known as the Woodhouse Warehouse, it was designed in 1929 by prominent Scottish architect James Miller for furniture business Jas Woodhouse & Sons.

The building’s original purpose as a furniture warehouse and showroom helped shape much of its character. Large display windows at street level allowed the business to showcase furniture to people passing through the busy city centre, while the upper floors provided generous commercial space.

Over the decades, the building has continued to adapt.

In the 1970s, it became associated with office use, including a conversion for The Prudential Assurance Company Ltd. Today, now known as The Culzean, the building combines historic architectural detail with high-quality modern office accommodation, continuing its long story of reinvention in the heart of Glasgow.

PREAH’s current mechanical and electrical building services work at The Culzean places us within one of Glasgow city centre’s notable inter-war commercial buildings.

As we marked Father's Day at the weekend, we wanted to recognise something quite special within PREAH's Facilities Management team. Among our engineers, we are fortunate to have not one, but two father and son partnerships working side by side across Scotland.

Pictured from left to right here are Aaron, Thomas, Alex and Kyle, who together represent two generations of engineering expertise helping to support our customers every day.

Alongside their fellow engineers across the PREAH FM team, they help deliver planned preventative maintenance, servicing, reactive repairs and maintenance works across plumbing, HVAC and electrical building services, ensuring our customers continue to receive the high standards of service they expect.

It's fantastic to see knowledge, experience and a strong work ethic shared across generations and we are proud to have all four as part of the PREAH team.

A big thank you to them - and to all our FM Engineers - who contribute so much to PREAH's success.

This Men's Health Week, we're encouraging a simple but important conversation. When we talk about health, it's easy to think only about physical fitness or only about mental health. But wellbeing is everything that helps us feel healthy, supported and able to live well.

In construction and building services, it's easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list. Long days, demanding work and busy lives can mean we ignore things we'd encourage others to take seriously.

Whether it's booking that health check, getting active, talking about stress, seeking support with finances, or simply taking time to recharge, looking after your health is one of the most important investments you can make.

At PREAH, we're committed to supporting our people with a range of wellbeing benefits, including confidential support through our Employee Assistance Programme, health and wellbeing resources, fitness initiatives and access to healthcare support.

This week, why not take a moment to check in with yourself?
✔ How are you feeling physically?
✔ How are you feeling mentally?
✔ Are you managing stress in a healthy way?
✔ Is there something you've been putting off?

Small actions can make a big difference. Let's keep looking after ourselves and looking out for each other.

A huge congratulations to Michael Savage, FM Service Engineer Mate at PREAH, who completed the 2026 Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 24 May in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Michael took on the full 26.2-mile marathon distance, an incredible test of fitness, determination and resilience, and has raised a fantastic £2,125 for a very worthy cause.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides vital practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their loved ones across the UK.

Well done, Michael, from everyone at PREAH. An amazing achievement and a brilliant effort in support of such important work.

The best building services projects do not stop at practical completion.

At PREAH, the strongest outcomes happen when installation and facilities management are connected from the start.

Our construction division sees the detail of the install: the site conditions, the coordination, the commissioning requirements and the decisions that shape how systems are handed over.

Our FM team sees what happens next: how those systems perform, what needs maintained, what condition they are in and how clients can protect their investment over time.

That partnership creates a smoother transition from project completion into ongoing care, reducing the gap between the team delivering the installation and the team responsible for maintaining it.

It means better handover information, more practical maintenance planning and a team that is thinking about future condition before the job is finished.

For our clients, that means clearer communication, stronger asset knowledge and greater confidence that their building’s systems will continue to perform as they should.

That joined-up approach matters across building services, whether we are delivering planned installations, lifecycle works, compliance-led upgrades or retrofit projects.

Because a successful project is one that is installed well, but also one that continues to perform well.

If you are planning building services works and want to think beyond the install, our team at PREAH are ready to discuss your needs: [email protected]

As we head towards the warmer months in Scotland, now is a good time to think about whether your building systems are ready for the change in season.

After a long winter period, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems can begin to show signs of strain just as demand starts to increase. It is not uncommon for small water leaks to appear once heating is switched off after months of continuous operation, particularly in older systems. A few things worth keeping an eye on as summer approaches:

Air conditioning performance - are systems cooling properly and running efficiently before temperatures climb?

Ventilation & airflow - are filters clean and airflow levels where they should be for a comfortable working environment?

Refrigeration systems - warmer weather can place extra strain on refrigeration equipment, particularly in commercial environments.

Heating & plumbing systems -small leaks, pressure changes and ageing components can often become more noticeable during seasonal changeovers.

Electrical systems - increased use of cooling equipment can place added demand on electrical infrastructure.

Preventative maintenance and regular servicing can help reduce the risk of unexpected downtime during the busiest months. PREAH is delighted to offer support to businesses across Scotland with HVAC, air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical service and maintenance.

If you would like to discuss preparing your commercial building systems for summer, our team is always happy to help.

As today is World FM Day, it feels like the perfect time to celebrate our incredible team and our first ever PREAH FM Conference.

Yesterday, we hosted the PREAH FM Conference 2026, bringing our FM team members together from across the business to share updates, ideas and plans for the future of PREAH FM.

The engagement throughout the day was fantastic. Lots of questions, open conversation, collaboration and positivity from the team, with feedback already proving just how valuable the event was.

It’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of PREAH FM. The business continues to grow, evolve and strengthen, with big ambitions for the future and a real focus on building something special together.

Most importantly, our people left feeling connected, appreciated, informed and excited about where PREAH FM is heading.

A huge well done to all of our speakers and a massive thank you to every member of the PREAH FM team who continue to exceed expectations every day. We appreciate each and every one of you. 👏🏻👏🏻

This was the first PREAH FM Conference of many - and, after yesterday, we’re even more excited for the future ahead.

Big things are happening at PREAH FM and we already cannot wait to see what the next 12 months brings.
