I made the finals of the Judi Awards at this year’s InstallerSHOW for Best Educational Content. Buzzing. 😁

To be honest, winning Best Heating Installer in Scotland 2026 was already more than enough for me, so to be in another final a few days later is pretty special.

A big thank you to everyone who watches the videos, comments, shares them and supports what we’re doing. I started the channel to help educate people on heat pumps, solar and renewables, so it’s great to see it being recognised.🫶🏼

Everything is being documented honestly including design choices, installation, commissioning and real world running costs/performance.

Inside a Real Heat Pump Retrofit: From Design to Performance 🔧

Panasonic ProPartner Sean Hogan of Aventus Eco has started retrofitting his own home in Scotland using a Panasonic Aquarea L Series heat pump, and he’s documenting the entire journey.

From the initial property survey and system design decisions through to installation, commissioning, and real-world performance data, the series offers a transparent, end-to-end look at a residential heat pump retrofit.

The first few episodes are now live, with more to come as the project progresses. Follow along to see the challenges, decisions, and results from a real installation in real conditions.

Thanks to Powered Now for the goodie bag 👏🏼

The amount of stuff me and the other regional winners have received so far has genuinely been brilliant.

For anyone in the trades that’s never heard of it, Powered Now is basically an all in one platform for running your business properly without making your life harder. Most importantly… it helps stop the tax man trying to shaft you because everything is actually organised properly 😂

The best way I can describe it is this…

It feels like a coder who understands AI sat down and thought:

Then actually built it.

As the business grows, having systems that save time and stop things slipping through the cracks becomes massive. Anything that makes life easier for tradesmen gets my attention 👌🏼 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
