Whole Life Carbon Assessment is becoming an essential part of how we design and deliver buildings, but its value goes far beyond measurement.

WWe recently spoke with Collin Campbell, Senior Sustainability Consultant, to explore how WLCA can support better design decisions from the outset, the barriers still facing the industry, and why early engagement is key to reducing carbon effectively.

🧑 We all need to take time to consider and maintain our mental health, as well as our physical health 🧑

We need to consider and talk about mental health, and provide support to our friends, family and colleagues who need it.

As we approach World Mental Health Day on 10th October, we have a Wallace Whittle Mental Health team in place in each of our offices. These volunteers are currently undergoing training and will be qualified Mental Health First Aiders by the end of this month, providing local understanding of the relevant issues and immediate help and support to anyone who may need it.

We have today also added Help@Hand to our WW:BeneFIT staff portal, providing a completely confidential digital health and wellbeing service, giving all staff, their partner and dependants easy access to five health and wellbeing services, including mental health support, via one easy-to-use app.

Look after yourselves and each other!

We launched our new Wallace Whittle LinkedIn page to coincide with our MBO launch in April, and we have enjoyed engaging with a growing group who have followed all our social media channels .

Earlier this month we were very pleased to welcome our 1,000th follower, Jamie Gibson of OFR Consultants. We sent Jamie a bottle of his favourite tipple and we hope he enjoys a wee dram or two with our complements.

Thank you all for engaging with us and supporting Wallace Whittle!

Our Belfast office, led by Gavin McCausland, provided MEP design and consultancy for the €48M commercial campus situated within Dublin Airport Central.

This next generation business destination offers unrivalled international and national connectivity, and boasts a unique mix of business and social amenities, including the new build of 200,000ft2 of highly sustainable Grade A office space, between two six storey buildings. The offices achieved LEED Gold Rating, Platinum Wired Score Rating, a highly energy efficient BER β€˜A3’ rating and the entire project was managed and delivered to BIM L2. We also undertook the design of infrastructure and the site wide urban realm, including architectural exterior lighting, creating a safe and pleasant ambience.
