Here are some pictures of a recently completed driveway in Newlands.
Our client required a new driveway and asked us to come up with a solution to solve the problem of having to move their cars back and forth in order to let each other in and out.
We suggested that a section of the raised bed be removed to create an extra parking space.
The existing drive was fully excavated and hardcore laid and compacted. The existing slabs were cleaned and re-laid. Gravel matting was laid in all of the remaining areas with a 20mm Moonstone gravel laid on top.
Ten rows of reclaimed cobbles were laid to form a gravel stop at the entrance to the driveway.
A retaining wall was constructed using reclaimed bricks from the 1890’s and some low level dusk till dawn lighting was installed in the parking bay. Some fresh planting around the wall completes the look!
Our client was delighted with their new drive and parking spot.
