Few things thrill quite like a build that refuses to simply tip its hat to motorsport heritage, instead delivering it centre stage for all to admire. Meet Chris Lloyd, or as his legion of Instagram fans know him, , a true icon among the Silicon Hoses faithful.
When we caught up with Chris, his BTCC-inspired Nissan Primera wagon didn’t just turn heads. It completely stole the spotlight. The boldness of an SR20DET-swapped estate is impressive enough. But it’s the relentless pursuit of perfection, visible in every meticulously crafted part, that truly sets it apart. Featuring a full Silicon Hoses set up, Chris is ready for 2026!
Aside from being a fantastic example of our universal hoses in a custom build, we have to celebrate the livery! This isn’t a backstreet replica. It’s a painstaking homage to the 1999 championship-winning British Touring Car Championship Primera. The car’s look was brought to life using genuine Nissan Motorsport files. Andy Bell, a veteran of designing for Team Dynamics and even Haas Formula 1 Team, created the design. This marks the first time the iconic Vodafone BTCC livery has graced a road car.
This is where classic touring car nostalgia crashes headlong into modern craftsmanship, and we could not be more on board.
Watch for Chris at events this year, including the Forge Motorsport Brunch Club on May 30. And, stay tuned for an exciting feature with Chris launching soon on our channels. 😎
