We currently have a vacancy, for the right candidate, to join our team as a driver/valeter.

The ideal candidate will safely and responsibly collect and deliver customers cars and give the car a courtesy wash before returning them or before the customer collects. This can be 1 to 5 cars a day.
Weekly checking and cleaning our own new courtesy cars ensuring they are ready at all times.
Our own car sales vehicles will require on occasion collecting from various BCA sites {Glasgow, Livingston or Edinburgh} via train/taxi then driven back, they will require valeting fully so to be ready for sale. Circa 6 to 8 per month.

Previous driving experience and vehicle valeting is preferred, along with a clean valid UK driver’s license and a strong commitment to quality, care and customer service.

Key duties include pick up and delivery including checking condition, performing courtesy washes and sales car valeting with an eye for detail and quality finish.
All Valeting products and machinery on site and a certain amount of training will be given but some form of car valeting experience is preferred.
Full uniform will be provided.

A contract of employment will be given and yearly salary of £30,000* over a 40 working hour week, Monday to Friday with 28 days paid holiday and pension.
Help with your own car repairs and parts costs.
*{Circa £484 per week take home pay after tax/Ni}

Had a call from a customer who had a mobile mechanic on site to undertake his wet belt replacement and oil service for £800 to £900 on his Fiesta.
Car would not start.
Mechanic called us as he could not figure out what he had done wrong.
We could not offer him any advice as we had not undertaken the replacement and we did not know what he had done wrong either.
Long story short.
Car was recovered to us.
Turbo heat shields were missing, bolts put in wrong places, bolts missing, nuts/bolts not torqued and some just finger tight on timing case cover with one missing, clips not secured to induction, no new crank slip ring, wrong bolt put into sump and forced leading to the threads being stripped resulting in the sump leaking oil, timing was out as incorrectly locked/timed up, coolant bottle connector broken, aluminium main timing case cover cracked and split, no new pcv valve and old one in bits, delamination debris still in the sump as it had not been cleaned out etc etc.
We are £1189.88 for a 1.0 EcoBoost wet belt replacement along with a Major service, water pump replacement plus coolant change. This comes with 12 months Service Sure warranty and breakdown cover.
The final bill for this job that the mechanic paid to us to fix was over £2100 to include new Ford aluminium sump, new Ford aluminium timing case cover, new expansion bottle connector, new turbo heat shields x3, full wet belt replacement kit, major service inc iridium plugs, pcv valve, slip ring, water pump and coolant change.
Not slating the mechanic but he was inexperienced and clearly out of his depth in trying to do this job.

AVOID WET BELT DISASTERS !!
Peugeot 208 Recovered from Perth via Williamson Bros with red oil light on to get the wet belt replaced.
Oil strainer blocked up. Wet belt replaced, road tested and another one saved good to go. Pictures of several wet belt included.

Williamson Bros are wet belt specialists and wet timing belt replacement is something we do every day for customers all over Scotland as it is a massive issue with Ford and the PSA group {Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall}
The wet timing belt starts to delaminate very early on and all the particles drop into the sump, the oil pump then sucks all the debris up into the oil strainer blocking it and in turn causing oil pressure faults leading to oil starvation. If left too long this will lead to engine damage and often there are no warning signs of impending issues. We see faults and breakdowns on cars just 3 to 5 years old with only 20k to 70k on them.
We have all of the specialist engine timing locking tools to do the work required and we use genuine parts and along with an oil service, for all parts needed, all labour, the oil service and vat included this is £595 for Turbo 1.2 engines and £629.90 for non turbo as it is a longer job to replace on the non turbo engines due to different timing locking set up..
Parts are as follows, OEM Full wet belt timing kit with tensioner, bolt, seals, Oil filter and specialist PSA grade oil. This includes removing and cleaning out the sump and oil strainer. If needed you can upgrade to a Major service for £85 for oem air filter and spark plugs.
We would need the car for a day and a half to allow the specialist high temp sealants for the sump and parts to cure fully. The sump is removed and cleaned also the oil pump strainer are fully cleaned out and unblocked then the replacement of all parts mentioned undertaken, the following morning once all the sealants have cured we undertake the service and 12 mile road test.
We can offer Local collection and delivery or our recovery service is available, also the train station is 400 meters away from us making it convenient. For over 5 miles collection and delivery is £15 up to 10 miles.
All our work is covered by guarantee and warranty.
