Lessons in how not to build!
This extension has a consistently leaking roof. Made to look like an extension roof, it’s time to remove the entire system and replace with a new construction warm roof, rubber finish with two aluminium lanterns. Plus, where the walls were so damp, this is due to plasterboards touching the outside wall, cavities blocked with mortar, insulations not complete so allowing condensation to build.

Note the original ramparts on the bank. Constructed in 1859 as part of a defence system. This area still shows them in part. Especially from an Ariel view.

Time to begin the garden preparations. Let’s try to recover the ground so we can attempt the lawn! It’s been baked for weeks now. The final insulations arrived and now able to be fitted on the house so we can complete render, remove last scaffold and get a grab load of screened topsoil through.
We need to soak the ground first though of course.
