We recently delivered a HH-262 Tele Boom Launch and Recovery System (LARS) to the Mermaid Endurer.

⚓ This system is one of four LARS units which are being supplied to Mermaid through Argus Remote Systems, with two systems manufactured in the UK and two in Vietnam.

⚙️ Based on our proven standard LARS design, this set of units has been upgraded to a 5.5-tonne Safe Working Load (SWL) in air and features a platform to provide additional deck space.

The HH-262 can also be upgraded to a 7-tonne SWL, providing an option for applications requiring increased lifting capacity.

We are proud to have worked with the Mermaid team for many years, having previously supplied LARS systems for their Legacy fleet, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration. 🤝

Our fabrication workshop is busy with lots of ongoing projects. We currently have a range of products in the shop that are being worked on, including:

📢 We are hiring!

We are looking for a Fabricator Welder to join the Hydramec team!

➡️ Responsibilities
🔹Read and interpret engineering drawings
🔹Fabricate and assemble metal components to required standards
🔹Carry out FCAW/MIG and TIG welding as required. Welding coding can be obtained for the right candidate
🔹Work with Hydramec inspection to ensure quality and accuracy
🔹Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely
🔹Measure, cut, shape, and prepare materials for fabrication
🔹Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
🔹Follow health and safety procedures at all times
🔹Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production schedules and customer deadlines

➡️ Skills & Qualifications
🔹Previous experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing or engineering environment
🔹Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
🔹Experience with FCAW/MIG and TIG welding (coding/certification desirable but not essential)
🔹A relevant welding or fabrication qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) or proven experience
🔹Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
🔹Good time management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards

➡️ Salary & Working Hours
🔹39 hours per week:
Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 16:30 | Fridays 8:00 to 15:30
🔹£18.75 per hour + overtime rates

📢Another LARS out the door!

We have just delivered the fourth and final HH262 Launch and Recovery System in a series of units supplied to our client.

All four units were fitted with a 4,500 kg SWL boom and a 37kW Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU).

The HH262 is one of our most popular units and is suitable for a range of operations and ROV applications.

Did you know that we have been supporting grassroots football for over 14 years?⚽️⚽️

We are proud to have been sponsoring the local Bohemians FC youth team during that time, as well as getting involved with their Festival of Football last year.

With yesterday being World Football Day, it felt like the perfect opportunity to recognise and say thank you to the clubs and communities that keep the game going at the grassroots level. Without these communities the game would not exist!!

This is not our usual type of post, as there is no LARS or product to share, but we are very proud to be a small part of contributing to local sport.

⬇️Four of our Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) at Saab Seaeye’s workshop.

These units are our HH262 Tele Boom LARS, a self-contained system, with this particular set featuring 55kW hydraulic power units (HPUs).

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our founder, Peter Church, whose funeral was held on 30 April.

Starting as a one-man operation in Great Yarmouth in February 1990, Peter built Hydramec from the ground up, shaping the company into what it is today.

His vision, determination, and hardworking mindset continue to influence the business and the people within it.

Peter will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the many who worked alongside him over the years.
