Well its been a fantastic year for CeraPhi Energy and across the globe but, topped off yesterday with a fantastic "All Party Parliamentary Group" for . The was graced by our designated Geothermal Minister, Dr Alan Whitehead MP a knowledgeable advocate, who no doubt will bring an exciting and needed voice to the growing geothermal momentum building, as we close 2025 and move into 2026 with the heat beneath our feet truly at the centre of UK energy security discussion:

Today Geothermal Energy Advancement Association merges with REA Renewable Energy Association, I urge the Geothermal Community collectively to unite under one clear voice in 2026 to align and strengthen behind the and REA.

Thanks to the alliance, to its Chair Dr Kieran Mullan MP, Neil McLoughlin, Alison Monaghan, British Geological Survey, Drew Nelson, Project InnerSpace, Charlotte Adams, The National Geothermal Centre, David Mackey, The Carbon and Energy Fund for some great updates and presentations on the fantastic work going on in the space!

Lots more work to do, but momentum is gaining with the need for more public, government recognition and a solid National Geothermal Strategy, amongst other asks to the Minister.

CeraPhi Energy has been appointed to deliver a first of its kind study for Kentwell Hall, a 16th-century stately home in . With the preservation of this Grade 1 listed building at the heart of the project, would design a non-invasive world-first multi-well deep geothermal heating solution using its proprietary monobore borehole system, designed to significantly reduce carbon emissions and operating costs.

Currently reliant on an aging oil boiler that consumes excessive quantities of fossil fuel yet barely warms the 400-year-old hall. Kentwell faces the dual challenge of protecting its fragile Tudor fabric and contents while modernising for the future. CeraPhi Energy has stepped up to accept this challenge, confident that its expert team can engineer a solution that can be accommodated seamlessly into the building and is both commercially viable and environmentally transformative.

The proposal will sympathetically introduce the 21st-century geothermal technology into this 16th-century landmark, whilst maintaining its authenticity, significance and character. CeraPhi’s innovative ground source system operates at depths of up to 1500 meters (1.5km), is invisible at the surface and designed to minimise disruption providing consistent, low-carbon heat across the estate. This includes the historic hall, residential quarters, a modern café and events building, nearby ancillary properties, and even the octagonal guard towers.

A Heat-as-a-Service model is being considered, where would build and operate the system at its own cost and sell the heat back to the estate under an energy service agreement. The system will significantly reduce Kentwell Halls operating costs replacing its current oil fired system with baseload 100% clean energy.

Gary Williams, COO of CeraPhi Energy, said: “This is a unique challenge and the first project of its kind targeting a prestigious building of this age, proving that geothermal can be harnessed anywhere to cut carbon and deliver secure, affordable heat. We will implement a system that is invisible on the surface yet transformative in performance, a cleaner, smarter and more resilient option that futureproofs Kentwell Hall while preserving its remarkable heritage.”

Patrick Phillips, owner of Kentwell Hall, commented: “Kentwell is one of the most beautiful houses in an unrivalled setting, but cannot remain so fixed in the past that they become uninhabitable. Heating has always been a major problem for us, with vast rooms, high ceilings, and centuries-old windows that cannot be altered.

This landmark project demonstrates how cutting-edge next generation deep geothermal innovation can bring historic properties into a sustainable, net zero future.

CeraPhi Energy are incredibly proud to announce our first commercial installation is underway — and it’s a ground breaking one!

CeraPhi Energy has been awarded the contract to deliver a first-of-its-kind geothermal decarbonisation project at Scunthorpe General Hospital, part of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

This transformative project will repurpose an existing 550m borehole into a ™ closed-loop geothermal system, integrated with a new energy centre to provide continuous, reliable, low-carbon heat to the hospital’s heat network. The result? A significant reduction in fossil fuel reliance and a major step forward in helping the Trust achieve its Net Zero goals.

Gary Williams, COO of CeraPhi Energy, shared:

“We are immensely proud to be partnering with the NHS on this infrastructure project. Repurposing an existing asset like the 550m borehole with our CeraPhiWell technology provides an accelerated, cost-effective, and low-risk pathway to delivering baseload geothermal heat. This contract is a testament to the versatility of our ‘plug and play’ system for commercial and public sector decarbonisation.”

This installation is expected to be the deepest of its kind in the UK, positioning Scunthorpe General Hospital as a national trailblazer in sustainable healthcare infrastructure.

The project includes:

🔹 Converting the existing borehole into a CeraPhiWell™ system
🔹 Designing and installing a high-efficiency energy centre
🔹 Developing a new heat network connecting multiple hospital buildings

Work began in October 2025 and is on track for completion by February 2026. This is not just a milestone for Geothermal Development Company - CeraPhi Energy — it’s a major step for UK decarbonisation and a powerful example of what’s possible when innovation meets commitment to sustainability.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said geothermal could provide massive amounts of stable power.

In its first report on geothermal, the IEA said the energy system could meet 15% of global electricity demand by 2050 with continued technological improvements and reductions in cost. This would be the equivalent of 6,000 terawatt-hours per year, the current electricity demand of the US and India, the agency said.

Read more about how Geothermal Development Company - CeraPhi Energy is at the forefront of well repurposing within the UK.

Shale drilling and fracturing techniques could drive the development of geothermal power, the world’s leading energy organisation said today.
