Come and say Hi this weekend!

We’ll be at Grand Designs Live at London ExCeL from 1–4 May—and you can find us on Stand K5.

If you’re planning a project (or just starting to explore ideas), come and chat with us about how, alongside our BE Collective sister companies, we take projects from concept to site and beyond—covering everything from design and planning through to engineering, energy, and cost management.

It’s also the perfect chance to explore the show and meet a whole range of experts to help shape your project.

Behind every safe building is a team you’ll never see.

Engineering isn’t just calculations — it’s coordination. On site, we work hand-in-hand with architects, surveyors, contractors, and specialist trades to ensure every beam, slab, joint, retaining wall, drainage system... is safe, buildable, and compliant.

It’s a balancing act: schedules, standards, and safety all have to line up. That’s why communication is just as important as calculations.

As part of the BE Collective, our engineers can collaborate with in-house architects, surveyors, and energy assessors to streamline your project — if you wish. Even if you only need our engineering expertise, you still benefit from a team that knows how effective collaboration keeps projects on track.

Continuing our Christmas support with another great cause

Following our first Christmas donation, the second charitable contribution this year was made to the Paragon Charitable Foundation , supporting the vital work they do within our local communities.

During our visit, Gary and Sue spoke about some of the Christmas initiatives currently being delivered, including Baby Bank Moses baskets for new mums, Christmas hampers for individuals and families facing financial hardship, and wider support designed to help people celebrate Christmas — not just survive it — with the dignity of shared meals and small gifts.

The Foundation is also working closely with organisations such as the Salvation Army, helping to extend their reach and impact during what can be an incredibly challenging time of year for many.

Jamie and Russell called in to present the £500 donation, which will go directly towards these initiatives and beyond, helping to support individuals and families when they need it most. To learn more about the work supported throughout the year, visit paragoncharityfoundation.co.uk.

We’re proud to support a charity that brings compassion, care and practical help to those in need — especially at Christmas.

At Christmas time, we wanted to share a special project with you all…

Complex, playful tension, ornate detailing, great energy flow, warmth, comfort... all with a notoriously hard to work with material...

It’s a light-hearted reminder that while we take our work seriously, we don’t always take ourselves too seriously. Behind every project is a friendly, approachable team that enjoys what we do — and enjoys working together.

Our aim is always to take the stress out of creating buildings, while keeping the excitement that first sparked your project alive.

Watch right to the end to see that we can laugh at ourselves… literally.

Merry Christmas from all of us across the businesses that form BE Collective — we look forward to working with you in 2026.

At Christmas, supporting our local community matters more than ever.

In place of client gifts this year, at BE Collective, we’ve once again chosen to support local causes, and recently made the first of our Christmas donations to the wonderful team at The Ferry Project .

We’ve had the privilege of working alongside The Ferry Project on several projects over the years, helping to bring their vision to life in support of the homeless community in and around Wisbech. After presenting our donation, John Heathorn kindly showed us progress on their latest scheme and took us through the different levels of supported accommodation they provide — from ‘off the street’ provision right through to near-independent living — as well as facilities such as their cookery school.

Hearing John speak about the Ferry was truly inspirational. He’s often asked whether it’s really true that the Ferry helps turn people’s lives around. His response says it all:
“We save and change people’s lives — I’m living proof of it.”

Having experienced homelessness himself before finding the Ferry, John’s lived experience informs and inspires many of the schemes and facilities they deliver today, helping others as he was once helped.

Our donation will go directly towards supporting clients at the Ferry Project, including their vital ‘move on’ schemes — ensuring those progressing into social housing have the furniture and white goods they need to sustain a safe, stable forever home.

We’re incredibly proud to support such an impactful local organisation. If you'd like to learn more or support, please visit https://www.ferryproject.org.uk/

Heads up: our phone systems change on Friday!

This Friday (Dec 19th) we’ll be switching to a new phone system. Our tech team is working hard to ensure everything is in place for a smooth changeover, but we wanted to make you aware just in case there are any temporary teething issues on the day.

We hope the new system will make our phonelines clearer and more reliable moving forward!

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

It’s Christmas Jumper Day!

Team spirit has been sparkling across BE Collective, at our main office, the Lincolnshire hub, and out on site as everyone joins in with their most festive finery. The office dogs (Hollie and Sidney) are proudly taking part too… and Ian has spoilt us again - this year with a three piece beauty and matching dog outfit!

Behind all the fun is a cause that matters. We’re supporting Save the Children, whose work makes a real difference for children who need it most.

If you’d like to get involved, you can donate here:https://christmas.savethechildren.org.uk/fundraising/cjd250026474 or text BECMAS to 70050* to donate £5... Even a couple of pounds can help create a meaningful impact.

Thank you for helping us spread some Christmas cheer — and for supporting a fantastic cause.

*When you text to donate, you'll be billed £5, plus your standard network rate. Save The Children receive 100% of your donation. By texting, you agree to calls about fundraising appeals, campaigns, events and other ways to support. Include NO after the team text code to opt out of phone calls e.g. BECMASNO.

Engineering better outcomes for people and place

We’re proud to have supported our colleagues at Swann Edwards Architecture Ltd on a recently approved nine-dwelling scheme in Wimblington — where collaboration and technical expertise were key to success.

The project initially faced objections during the planning process due to surface water flood risk concerns. In partnership with a flood risk modelling specialist and the project architects, our engineering team developed a detailed SuDS strategy to assess existing flood volumes and provide a robust approach to surface water management.

Specialist modelling confirmed that the proposed system would not only fully manage on-site flood risk but also reduce flood risk in surrounding areas, creating a tangible benefit for the wider community.

The scheme was presented to the planning committee and approved, with specific recognition of WECE’s efforts to mitigate risk and deliver environmental betterment — a great result for the team and for sustainable design.
