1. Using dish soap is safe for washing cars: While dish soap is effective at cutting through grease and grime, it's not formulated for car paint. It can strip away protective wax and leave the paint susceptible to damage. Instead, use a pH-balanced car wash soap designed specifically for automotive paint.

2. Washing your car in direct sunlight is fine: Washing your car in direct sunlight can cause soap and water to dry quickly, leaving behind water spots and soap residue. It's best to wash your car in a shaded area or during cooler parts of the day to prevent this.

3. Waxing is only for cosmetic purposes: While waxing does give your car a shiny appearance, it also provides a protective layer against dirt, UV rays, and other environmental contaminants. Regular waxing can help preserve your car's paint and extend its lifespan.

4. Using more soap makes for a better clean: Using too much soap can actually be counterproductive. Excess soap doesn't rinse off easily and can leave behind residue, which attracts dirt and can lead to streaks. Follow the recommended dilution ratios on the soap bottle for best results.
