Eco Dash 5K 2026: Supporting Community Wellbeing

The 2026 Eco Dash 5K brought KJLC and Syensqo together with a shared focus on sustainability and community wellbeing. This year, 201 participants took part, choosing to run or walk and covering a combined 623.1 miles.

Working with Syensqo, the event showed how coming together can make a real difference locally. This includes support for the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, helping people access essential food as costs rise.

Thanks to Syensqo for the arrangement, coordination, and support of the event, and thank you to everyone who took part.

- From a Hastings Home to a European Headquarters

Today we’re rewinding to 1991, when the Kurt J. Lesker Company took a pivotal step into Europe - guided by the vision of Kurt J. Lesker III and Tim Pearce (Board of Directors & former Managing Director, KJLC Ltd). KJLC was already well established in the U.S., but this moment marked the beginning of our European journey.

From a humble living room operation on Old London Road in Hastings to a thriving European headquarters on the Churchfield Industrial Estate in St Leonards on Sea, our 34 years in Hastings show just how far vision, innovation, and great people can take you.

And our growth didn’t stop there - in 2022 we opened our Dresden facility in Germany, marking another major milestone in our European expansion.

Today we have 100+ employees across Europe and 600+ globally. Here’s to how far we’ve come- and the future we continue to build.

Kurt J. Lesker Company Ltd gets stuck in at Time4Trees 🌲

Our Hastings team recently spent a day on-site at Atlas Park in Dartford, joining Time4Trees LTD for a hands-on tree planting visit with the Dartford Crossing/Bridge in view.

Time4Trees supports UK businesses in taking measurable, transparent climate action through native British tree planting and local, people-driven sustainability initiatives. Together, we planted a mix of young native saplings (around 6 months old), including fir, oak, birch, cherry, pine, and rose, and our team of volunteers planted nearly 500 trees on the day, which is a TREE-mendous effort!

A big thank you to Time4Trees LTD for the partnership. Together, we are taking meaningful steps to reduce our carbon footprint and protect biodiversity.

HyDUS project recognised as Energy Runners Up at The Engineer’s 2025 Collaborate to Innovate Awards

HyDUS brings together a brilliant group of partners, led by the University of Bristol, with EDF (UK), Urenco, UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and Kurt J. Lesker Company, all focused on tackling one of hydrogen’s toughest challenges: how we store it safely and efficiently at scale.

Behind the scenes, a lot of this work depends on getting the fundamentals right. Hydrogen is widely considered to be a prime candidate to replace natural gas (methane/CH), on which there has dependence for many years for heat and electricity. Before this can happen, the tricky issue of H2 storage needs to be resolved. For HyDUS, that means precise, ultra clean, leak tight vacuum environments, and that’s where Kurt J. Lesker’s vacuum expertise really comes into its own. It’s a great example of how enabling technologies, often unseen, make ambitious energy innovation possible.
