£3,491 raised! Now that’s a score worth celebrating! ⛳👏

On Friday, we joined RWW Plumbing & Heating Ltd for the RWW Foundation Charity Golf Day - proud to sponsor the event and get out on the course ourselves.

Great company, some friendly competition and plenty of generosity added up to a total that could help support 46 children through the RWW Foundation.

A huge thank you to the RWW team for organising the day and inviting us along. And to everyone who played, sponsored, donated, bought a raffle ticket or bid in the auction! 🧡

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞. 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐚𝐲.
We could easily have left it alone. But we spotted a way to make it better for the people fitting it, so we did.

A tie now keeps the red retaining clip attached to the actuator and ready to use, making installation, servicing and repairs quicker and easier.

It’s a small change, but across every actuator on every manifold, small gains add up.

Every manufacturer claims to innovate. For us, it comes down to one question we keep asking: how could we make an installer’s day easier, or a job more profitable?

Ask that often enough and you stop waiting for big breakthroughs. You start spotting the small things that could be better.

Installers: what’s one small thing that would make your next install easier? It might be the next change we make.

As homeowners start switching their UFH systems back on after summer, the familiar seasonal questions and call-outs start to return - cold rooms, low pressure, trapped air, stuck pumps, controls and uneven heating.

We’ve brought together an Autumn Switch-On Troubleshooting Toolkit to help you get ahead of it.
Inside you’ll find our UFH Start-Up Checklist, troubleshooting videos, Heat Hacks, common fault guidance and direct access to our technical support team.

Useful for diagnosing issues over the phone, before you drive, or when you’re already on site.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭, 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬.
That is what a single zone gives you: one stat driving up to four actuators on the wiring centre. Anything past that needs a second zone and a second stat, which is a first fix decision rather than a commissioning one.
Cable is 1.5mm three core and earth back to the stat. Live, neutral and earth as you would expect, and switched live to A2.
Then the bit that catches people. A1 needs a linking wire across to live, or there is no feed across the switch and the stat does nothing at all.
If that sounds familiar, it should. It is the second time in this series that a missing link stops a system dead.
We walk the terminals in under a minute.

How many zones do you typically run on a four-bedroom house?

A generic UFH manual can tell a homeowner how a product works.

It cannot tell them:
🔸Which rooms are on which heating zone
🔸What the settings were at handover
🔸Where the pipework runs beneath their floor
🔸How their particular UFH system should behave

Those are plot-specific details.

Since June 2022, Section 9 of Approved Document L has required homeowner information to be specific to the home. From 24 March 2027, Regulation 40C tightens the requirements around how that information is provided.

There is also a practical reason to get it right now.

Poor handover can turn a perfectly functioning screeded UFH system into a first-winter customer care call simply because the homeowner is using it like the radiator system in their previous home.

That is why we have developed our 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤, built around the actual development rather than a generic product range.

It includes a branded homeowner guide, a matching A4 handover sheet and short online training for sales advisers, so the message given in the marketing suite matches the one provided when the keys are handed over.

We’ve shared a live example in the first comment.

🚫 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬...three more underfloor heating myths that still show up in design meetings...
Despite advances in system design and building performance, these misconceptions continue to circulate:

1️⃣ "UFH causes overheating"
☀️ Overheating risk is driven by:
✅ Solar gain
✅ Glazing levels
✅ Shading strategy
✅ Ventilation design
It is not caused by the heat emitter itself.
Modern overheating assessments evaluate the building's performance, not whether it uses UFH. And with a correctly designed reversible heat pump system, the same floor can even provide cooling. ❄️

2️⃣ "Retrofit means ripping up floors for thick screeds"
🔨 Not anymore.
Today's retrofit solutions include:
✅ Thin-build systems from around 20mm
✅ Low-profile overlay systems
✅ Dry plate systems
Many can be installed over a suitable existing floor with minimal disruption and without significant floor-height issues.

3️⃣ "UFH is too complicated for homeowners"
📱 A properly designed system is often simpler than radiators.
The control logic works quietly in the background, while the homeowner typically uses:
✔️ A room thermostat
✔️ An app
✔️ A straightforward handover
That's it.

We've now covered six outdated UFH beliefs.
The final two myths, along with the standards and evidence behind every answer, are covered in the full article.
✅ Practical
✅ Evidence-based
✅ No fluff

💬 Which UFH misconception do you find yourself correcting most often?

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩. 𝐍𝐨 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰. 𝐏𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭. 𝐎𝐫 𝐚 𝐔𝐅𝐇 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟𝐟.
Before you start thinking about what’s under the floor, start at the manifold.

Most UFH call-outs fall into a handful of familiar symptoms, and the fault is often far easier to reach than you might expect.

Our latest fault-finding guide works through the checks in a practical order, including:
🔸Sticking valve pins and failed actuators
🔸Incorrect flow settings and airlocked loops
🔸Seized pumps and blending valve issues
🔸Wiring centre and boiler interlock faults
🔸Using flow and return temperatures to diagnose performance
🔸Knowing when to stop fault-finding and pressure test the pipework

We’ve also turned the process into a one-page A4 decision-tree flowchart - designed to print, laminate and keep in the van.
