The sun is always shining above the clouds... we just need to climb there. With the Popham Microlight event this weekend the Metal Seagulls Team wish all sunny skies without the need to climb through clouds.

Unfortunately our team won't make it there this year, as Jonathan continues his recovery from leg issues (he is improving but it takes time to heal), and the other Seagulls are busy in the workshop with ongoing developments.

We wish we could be with you all, and hope to see you all soon!

Have a fun time at Popham Airfield with British Microlight Aircraft Association this weekend - may the sun greet you each morning and the winds be favourable every day.

Aerobility Charity does an amazing job with inspiring and supporting those with both visible and non-visible disabilities through aviation and related activities. Metal Seagulls director Jonathan Porter (also known as Captain Yaw) paid them a visit last week, thanking the team for their support during last year's health challenges with his leg, and catching up with developments at this impressive charity based at Blackbush Airport in the UK

Another spring day... test flying, repairs and shipping engines and props.

We have had many visitors to the hangar at Haverfordwest this week already... and bookings for various services in the coming weeks.

Next week Jonathan will be out of the country, and unobtainable due to no or only intermittent coverage where he will be.

I think many of our pilots would understand Einstein's frustration.... that is why we do flight planning and refer to it regularly... it is always important to know where we are going.

When Einstein took the train from Princeton University, a conductor boarded to check passengers' tickets. When he reached Einstein, he began searching his jacket pockets for his ticket but couldn't find it. He then looked in his trouser pockets, then in his small carry-on suitcase, without success. Finally, he started looking on the seat next to him…

Seeing this, the controller said to him:

— Dr. Einstein, I know who you are, everyone here knows you, and I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry.

Einstein nodded in gratitude. The conductor continued punching the tickets of the other passengers, but as he was about to move into the next carriage, he saw Einstein on his knees, searching under his seat for his ticket.

Intrigued, the controller returned to the great physicist and said to him:

— As I told you, we all know who you are, it's not a problem, so please drop this ticket!

Einstein then looked up at him and replied:

— Thank you, young man, I too know who I am. But what I don't know is where I'm going! That's why I keep looking for my ticket!

Sometimes we need to access a machine remotely to check a setup with a client. Layney recently set up a long distance connection to enable cross checking of a machine configuration and programme using a combination of Teams and WhatsApp... in real time - with decisions taken and code adjusted as needed. No matter where you are in the world, if you have a decent internet connection, we can work to get your parts machined with our incredible team.

Kudos to Layney and Patricia for achieving a complicated production component and link in real-time clarification through creative comms developments
