Today Terry finished repairing and restoring the sashes on this large 3-section window, primed them ready for paint, and started work on another sash restoration project.

Nothing beats bringing old craftsmanship back to life 👌

Sash window day for Terry 🔨😅

A lot of people think fitting sash windows is just a case of “pop it in and job done”… if only it was that easy 😂

Here’s a little timelapse of Terry fitting new sashes into the existing frames and bringing these windows back to life 👌

Plenty of measuring, adjusting, tweaking and probably a few choice words along the way 🤦‍♂️ but the finished result is definitely worth it 🙌

They’re looking spot on already 🔥

The part nobody sees about being a carpenter… 😅🔨

It’s not just turning up and swinging a hammer — it’s hauling what feels like half a workshop up scaffolding before the day even starts 🤦‍♂️

Saws, drills, fixings, levels, batteries, nail guns, hand tools… the list never ends 🧰

At this point we need an apprentice just to carry the tools up and down 😂

Still… can’t complain when the sun’s shining ☀️

🔨 Bespoke Sash Window Joinery 🔨

When windows are beyond repair, we don’t cut corners — we rebuild them properly.

Terry has been in the workshop crafting brand new sash sections from scratch, carefully machining and assembling each piece to match the original design while ensuring long-term durability.

From precise joinery to clean finishes, this is all about doing things the right way — not the quick way.

These will be heading back on site soon as part of a full restoration 👌

Another transformation completed by Holt & Tide Ltd 🔨

This job had significant rot in the external timber — years of weather exposure had taken its toll.

Terry has:
✔️ Removed all damaged and rotten wood
✔️ Repaired and rebuilt the structure properly
✔️ Installed new shaped timber to match the original detail
✔️ Fully prepped and finished for long-lasting protection

The result? A clean, solid finish that not only looks great but will stand up to the elements for years to come.

✨ Transformation in Progress – Holt & Tide Ltd ✨

Terry has been hard at work refurbishing all the woodwork in this beautiful home, and the results so far are looking incredible 👏

We’re tackling this project in stages so the customer can clearly see the progress as we go – and it’s safe to say the difference is already speaking for itself!

So far, the downstairs woodwork has been completed (as shown in these photos 👇), bringing it back to life with a fresh, clean finish.
