The reinforced concrete slab of the side extenstion has been succesfully cast on top of the heave protection boards, paving the way for the superstructure.

Top Structural Design was recently called at a property at Hadley Wood, North Londong for a structural survey with the aim to identify the casue of the cracks observed on the walls. It was evident from the site visit that there was ground movement caused by the nearby trees that caused th defects. Top Structural Design provided a clear and concise report to the Client to record the defects and their cause and propose remedial action.

Groundworks are ongoing to install the 2m deep trench fill on this tricky side extension in Barnet. Some of the challenges are the proximity to trees and the existing basement as well as the existence of manholes which will need to move. To avoid surcharging the drainage pipes, a concrete beam will be introduced to bridge over them and transfer the load safely to the foundations.
Top Structural Design carried out the structural design and assisted with the below ground drainage and the Third Party approvals.

Works are well underway at Radlett. The existing buildings have been demolished to give way for the construction of the new garage and house. Careful consideration was given to the stability of the party wall and ,to this end, a report on the structural stability of the wall was prepared and submitted to the party wall surveyor

The works have started at Chandos Road, Brent with the er****on of the first steel columns. Top Structural Design has carried out the structural design of this two-storey rear extension, which comprised, among others, cranked steel portal frames to provide lateral stability whilst respecting the Client's intent for column-free spaces.
