Sheraton Moon Hotel, designed by MAD Architects, is an extraordinary-looking building next to Nan Tai Lake in Huzhou. The circular building is reflected in the water, creating a surreal connection between reality and illusion.
The building becomes clear under the sunlight with the reflection of the lake. At night, the entire building lights up and wraps around the hotel, and the water resembles the bright moon rising above the lake. The structure is a reinforced concrete core tube with high capacity, lightweight, and earthquake resistance. The facade is covered with aluminum rings and glass layers, creating an illusion and drama for the building’s scale.
