Working within a shift team responsibilities include:
• Receiving material coming into the plant.
• To be able to distinguish between “process materials” and “materials for Galvanizing.
• To inspect materials for suitability in accordance with the pre-process checking procedure.
• Check incoming advice/delivery notes.
• Unload vehicles paying due care to avoid damages and store on yard in a safe and suitable manner. Attach ID labels.
• Bring materials into works when required for processing and unload onto jigs in a safe manner suitable for processing, fully utilising jig capacity. Ensure ID labels are attached.
• Unload jigs after galvanizing, inspect materials ensuring compliance with company QA policy ISO 9001 & Galvanizing standards BS EN ISO 1461.
• Count and stack material in a safe and tidy manner, giving due care to avoid damages. Attach ID label.
• Weigh material prior to storing on yard in a safe and easily accessible manner.
• Load vehicles paying due care to avoid damages. Check quantities against notes.
• To employ methods with regard to his own safety and of others in the immediate vicinity.

Joining our team in Hereford, the Maintenance Engineer will undertake routine and non-routine maintenance services adhering to statutory legislation, environmental obligations, company procedures and commercial objectives.

Duties include:
- Undertake safe and effective routine and non-routine maintenance as scheduled by the Works Manager on plant equipment and machinery within agreed time and quality parameters.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and highlighted defects.
- Provide timely and accurate information on the status and progress of maintenance and repair work.
- Upkeep of all tools, plant and equipment used in maintenance and repair services.
- There will be an alternating weekend and call-out working requirement.

Our ideal maintenance engineer will have:

- Practical ‘hands on’ experience with a variety of industrial motors and pumps.
- Experience of record keeping and administration using computer software.
- Qualified knowledge and practical experience of 24v, 230v and 415v fault electrical finding and repair.
- Some knowledge and experience of control and instrumentation.
- Some experience in welding and fabrication.
