Here at Mirus Aircraft Seating, environmental responsibility in ingrained in our DNA. Our drive to develop class leading lightweight seats is the biggest sustainable benefit to an airline, for fuel savings and payload capacity.

Designed with maintainability in mind; parts and modules can be easily replaced to prolong service life of the seat and components can be easily separated into constituent parts for ease of recycling, even through careful use of adhesives and mechanical fastenings.

We continually invest in our state-of-the-art facilities and technologies that enable us to develop and manufacture our seating in lean, efficient ways, as well as continue to develop and deliver lighter-weight, longer-lasting seats that help our customers reduce fuel burn and CO2 emissions.

Adam Challenor, Mirus Technical Director and aircraft seating expert, offers some great insights into how our products are continually assessed against in-house targets (such as technical and certification requirements), but also densification and weight targets from airline clients.

He also discusses supply chain disruptions and lead time challenges, and how development iterations are key mitigators of these issues.

Adam finishes by expressing the importance of reducing seat weight to meet airlines’ sustainability demands, and highlights that when a Mirus seat comes to the end of its lifespan, all constituent components and materials can be easily separated for recycling or reuse.

Here at Mirus Aircraft Seating, we continual invest in advanced material technologies, reduce our plastic usage and opt for environmentally friendly foams and seat cover material; such as wool fabrics and sustainable leather alternatives.

Last week marked the annual Mirus All staff briefing & summer social. This day was set aside to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our Mirus employees.

The Mirus Exec Team presented a comprehensive overview, detailing business updates over the last 12 months and for the year ahead.

This was followed by our Long Service Award presentation, a delicious BBQ lunch and outdoor activities, which included axe throwing, laser clay pigeon shooting and garden games.

An excellent time was had by all & here’s to another successful 12 months ahead!

On Sunday 24th September, Mirus Aircraft Seating took park in the 6 mile mud run.

Team Mirus took on the obstacles and made their way through the mud, all in the name of saving lives; raising just under £600 for East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Well done Team Mirus! You smashed it! 🏅
