BESPOKE CHASSIS MOUNT CANOPY

It was great to catch up with the team and their bespoke Hilux build from Tavistock Dartmoor Search and Rescue today at the Tavistock Emergency Services Day.

The team collaborated directly with to CAD-design and fabricate a custom setup tailored perfectly to their specific rescue equipment and operational needs.

BESPOKE EXPEDITION ROOF RACK

Next up on the expedition build list was a bespoke heavy duty tubular steel roof rack with built in windscreen mesh guard. Powder coated in matt black and featuring a brushed stainless steel tag, the rack protects the vulnerable wind shield whilst driving on rock strewn tracks as well as carrying four CAD designed aluminum roof boxes with integrated solar panels for self sufficiency. The rack was finished with a 42” Stedi light bar for lighting up the trail ahead, and orange Maxtrax sand boards for self-recovery. The camp set up was completed with a Darche 270° awning, Darche shower tent and 6 Stedi auxiliary work lights.

CUSTOM AUXILIARY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Whilst traversing the unchartered wilderness, our client needed a tried and tested electrical system he could rely on in order to be self sufficient. This compact 12v electrical system features a B2B (battery to battery) and twin solar chargers as well as a Renogy inverter. One solar charge controller is for the eight roof mounted 30W panels and the other is for a 400W solar blanket when parked up for long periods. The external lighting ( and ), fridge freezer and other accessories are controlled by a pair of beam switch panels. The system is set up to suit a 300A lithium battery, which the client is going to source once the vehicle arrives in Canada.

BESPOKE JEEP CONVERSION

With a long expedition ahead, every inch of the jeep’s interior needed to be utilised for maximum efficiency. The steel framed storage houses a hot water shower, drinking water tank, fridge freezer, and custom electrical system. The heavy duty steel frame features inset oiled plywood to keep the build lightweight, and the frame is colour matched in automotive paint to bring the outside in. The frame then transforms into a comfortable bed using customised 80mm foam cushions.

BESPOKE CAD DESIGNED STORAGE SOLUTION

With a long expedition planned, our client needed an innovative, precision engineered storage solution.

Four durable, lockable aluminium roof boxes were CAD designed and finished in a sleek satin black powder coat providing secure, easy access storage of long term gear. The four boxes house eight 30W solar panels, keeping the leisure battery topped up while at camp.

Two further bespoke lockable side boxes were designed to house the trail kitchen and provide rapid access to equipment.

JEEP JK EXPEDITION BUILD

Introducing our most ambitious project to date: the ultimate Jeep JK Expedition Build. Engineered for serious overlanding and total off-grid independence, this rig is ready to disappear into the wild.

Externally, the jeep has a bespoke tubular steel roof rack with fold down front mesh screen to protect the windscreen against rocks on the trail, Stedi light bar, auxiliary camp lights, and CAD designed storage boxes.

Internally the jeep has been converted for comfortable off grid living and self-sufficiency, including a custom sleep area, cooking facilities, stainless steel drinking water tank, fridge freezer, diesel heater, innovative storage solutions and more!

We are hiring!!

Due to our team member going travelling, we have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team. We are looking for a part time, self employed welder/fabricator.

The job will include, but not limited to:
- Fabricating aluminium canopies and tray backs – TIG welding and fit up
- Steel and aluminium tube work
- Stainless steel exhaust fabrication
- Custom vehicle building

An interest in building off road and working vehicles would be an advantage. TIG and MIG welding experience is required. Must be able to work independently.
