Here’s a great example of why proper heat loss calculations matter.

The old boiler was one of the highest output oil combination boilers available at 25/32 kW.
After carrying out a full room-by-room heat loss survey, the actual property heat demand came out at just 9 kW.

Because of this, the new installation uses the smallest oil combination boiler available — a 12/18 kW unit, professionally down-rated to 12 kW on installation.
