What happens when you give young girls the tools to repair, reuse, and rethink waste?

🟩 As part of Cyd Innovation's dedicated commitment to delivering meaningful for our partner Grŵp Cynefin, we've partnered with Repair Cafe Wales and Cymru to deliver a series of hands-on repair workshops aimed at inspiring over 200 girls across Wales.

🤲 The intended outcome? Inspire over 200 girls across Wales to build confidence in hands-on repair skills and embrace sustainable behaviours rooted in the circular economy.

🔨 12 hands-on repair workshops
🗺️ 50% of workshops in WIMD-defined deprived areas. Resulting In:
🧠 Increased repair knowledge and confidence
🏠 Greater willingness to attempt repairs at home
🏅 Repair badges earned by Girlguiding Cymru members
📈 A growing network of young sustainability advocates
🫂 An uptake in volunteering

With at least 50% of workshops delivered in areas ranked among the most deprived in Wales, this initiative is about creating real social value where it’s needed most. Girls left feeling empowered, capable, and ready to take on repairs at home!

You get an Eco-Village built from imagination, CAD software, and a whole lot of curiosity!

In partnership with M-SParc Cyd Innovation proudly supported the award-winning Egni STEM program with a £1,000 investment — helping bring a physical Eco-house model to life

🚀 189 students. 7 schools. 1 mission: Inspire innovation through sustainability.

From designing solar-powered homes to understanding retrofit solutions, students gained real-world skills and confidence to shape the future.

💬 “It was great to see our model coming to life as part of the Eco Village.” 💬 “The Eco House showed how our solar panels could actually work in real life.”

This is what lasting impact looks like. A resource that continues to travel, teach, and inspire!

We had a brilliant time at yesterday’s Apprenticeship Event – thank you to Working Wales for having us!

It was a pleasure to chat with aspiring apprentices, hear about their goals, and share insight into the exciting opportunities available. We loved connecting with other amazing businesses who are passionate about developing future talent.

Plenty of great conversations were had… and yes, lots of Welsh cakes were consumed along the way! 😄

Events like this are a great reminder of how bright the future looks when we support and invest in it.
