Looks similar. Reads very differently.
Over the last few weeks we've become aware of a valve being supplied into the market which bears a striking resemblance to our genuine FRV, including the accompanying instructions which appear to have been copied from an older version of ours.
Rather than speculate we decided to test a number of samples alongside genuine FRVs using a reference flow meter.
The results were illuminating.
✓ Genuine FRVs were within 2-7% of actual flow.
✗ The other valves over-read by 29-36%.
We also observed rattling and unstable indicator movement during operation.
Installers will, quite reasonably, place trust in the readings shown when balancing a system. If those readings are inaccurate, a system can appear balanced when it isn't.
Anyone who designs, commissions or installs heating systems knows how much time, effort and expertise goes into getting things right.
That effort deserves components that are accurate, trustworthy and properly developed.
