A customer had a boiler installed and she did not have serviced for a while - On inspection a seal was missing between the sealed compartment of the boiler to the air in her home.

This compartment is a safety measure to keep the household safe from products of combustion and ensure a balance in the flue system.

One of today's job is servicing a Back boiler (pictured) that resides behind the gas fire at the front. They need a full strip down on every service.

This is one of the newer models but as you can see quite a mess please ensure you have these serviced every year and a carbon monoxide alarm tested/fitted.

One of the services i came across the last few days. Boiler has been like this since it was installed, the flue was not screwed down and was only fixed with tape for the last 8 or more years.

One of the reasons to have your boiler serviced is to catch problems before they become a nightmare.

This boiler looked fine on the outside but as you can see the AAV in the right squared area was leaking on the pump and causing rust and staining on the inside.
