Really pleased with how this project is coming together at Kevin Griffin Cars in Horsham.

I was brought in to decorate the new toilet areas within their new unit extension alongside the existing premises.

Scope included:

• Decorating newly plastered ceilings and boxing work
• Full prep of all walls ready for durable top coats
• Two coats of durable wall paint throughout
• Zinsser Perma-White applied to ceilings for added mould resistance in these high-moisture areas
• Scuff-X Eggshell used on the woodwork — brilliant product to work with and ideal for commercial durability

The transformation has really lifted the space and it’s great to be involved in another local business renovation project.

Looking forward to seeing the finished unit fully operational and hopefully working with Kevin Griffin Cars again in the future.

Fence upgrade completed…

The original fence was only just over 2 years old, but one of the timber posts had already failed and started to move. Understandably, the customer was concerned the rest wouldn’t be far behind.

We replaced the full run using concrete slotted posts and gravel boards, then installed new panels throughout.

This setup does two key things:
• Keeps the timber panels off the ground (where rot usually starts)
• Gives a much stronger, longer-lasting structure

It also means panels can be easily swapped in future if damaged or if the customer wants a different style.

The end result is a clean, solid fence that should last properly this time and a very happy customer.

We’ve started another bathroom refurbishment this week and the first step is always the messy one — the full strip out.

Old tiles, units and fittings have been removed so we can prepare everything properly before rebuilding the space. Good preparation makes all the difference to the final finish.

Bathroom refresh finished — Farrow & Ball Lulworth Blue (No. 89).

Simple job, but it’s completely lifted the room. Proper prep, clean lines, and a tidy finish throughout.

Ceiling stain after a leak?

With all the rain recently, we’re seeing a lot more issues like leaks, staining and mould showing up around windows, ceilings and external walls.

These photos are from two recent jobs where the rooms started off with heavy mould/condensation marks and water-related damage. We stripped back what was needed, carried out repairs, improved the affected areas, then fully redecorated to a clean, finished standard.

This room started with heavy staining and mould-like marks around the window and ceiling area following a leak.

We carried out the full prep any loose/blown areas made good, plaster repairs where needed, stain-blocking to stop bleed-through, then a full redecoration to bring it back to the original finish.

Over the last four days I’ve created an extra bedroom by building a new partition wall and fitting a door frame, working solo from start to finish.

The job included setting out and building the timber studwork, boarding, skimming, sanding and full prep, then finishing with new MDF skirting and architrave. The walls and ceiling are painted in Benjamin Moore Ballet White, and the woodwork is Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal.

Next step is the carpet, which I’m fitting tomorrow, and I’m genuinely undecided on the colour. With Ballet White on the walls and Kendall Charcoal on the trim, what would you choose?

Loft Insulation Upgrade – Bungalow EPC Improvement

A recent bungalow insulation upgrade completed this week. The property previously had around 100 mm of insulation — we increased this to 270 mm by adding an extra 170 mm throughout the loft.

We installed safety downlight covers and raised loft boarding to maintain full insulation depth without compression. This keeps the home warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and helps improve EPC performance.
