Solar and battery project powers up Blackwood community hub ☀️

The hope hub in Blackwood is set to cut energy costs and carbon emissions thanks to a major funding boost from South Lanarkshire Council’s Renewable Energy Fund, supported by OnPath Energy’s Kype Muir and Middle Muir wind farms.

The project includes 40kW of solar panels and battery storage, helping the hub
• Generate and store its own renewable energy
• Improve efficiency
• Supporting long term sustainability

With lower running costs and greener energy use, the project secures the future of a vital space for local groups, wellbeing activities and community connection.

Kype Muir and middle muir generated a combined total of around £640,000 in community benefit in 2025!

Don't miss the application deadline for our Armistead Wind Farm Community Fund!

Submit applications for Armistead Wind Farm Community Fund by Sunday 7th June.

Armistead Wind Farm is located on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and this fund is for communities in and around South Lakeland in Cumbria.

The wind farm community fund is managed by Point North, who help manage the process of getting funds to the places where they can make the most difference to the most people.

As part of our approach, we actively look to train our employees in vital H&S Skills such as:

💊 And other critical first aid training

📰 OnPath Energy progressing £1 billion southern Scotland investment plans with new South Lanarkshire onshore wind agreement

We're happy to share that we're progressing plans to invest around £1 billion in Southern Scotland over the next five years by partnering with Wilson Forest Products on three new onshore wind farms in South Lanarkshire.

OnPath has entered into an option agreement with the family-owned Scottish firm for the Bankend Rig II, Bankend Rig III and Hawkwood Wind Farm projects.

The option agreement gives OnPath Energy the right, subject to certain project milestones and conditions being achieved, to acquire a majority stake in the three projects.

Last week our graduates and early careers cohort engaged in a full-day training session with Maddy Ryder FCIPD (Jam Jar HR Ltd) 🎓

As part of our Graduate and Early Careers Development Programme, seven colleagues attended a specialist full day communication module, addressing the importance of effective communication, typical barriers, and practical guidance informed by their Facet5 profiles.

Record‑breaking turbine blades arrive at Mill Rig Wind Farm 🏗️

The longest turbine blades ever installed at a UK onshore wind farm have arrived at Mill Rig Wind Farm in South Lanarkshire – a major milestone for the 33.4MW project.

At 80 metres long, the blades will form part of six next‑generation turbines at Mill Rig Wind Farm, which is set to:

🏡 Power over 45,000 homes with renewable power
🌿 Cut around 27,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
👷 Invest £91 million locally over its lifetime
🏉 Generate £5 million in community benefits over the wind farm's lifespan

Vital funding strengthens youth support in South Lanarkshire 🌟

A community‑led charity supporting young people in Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill has been given a major boost thanks to funding from South Lanarkshire Council's Renewable Energy Fund, backed by our Kype Muir Wind Farm.

The grant has enabled the Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Resilience Group to appoint a full‑time development worker, securing the future of youth clubs, school programmes and partnerships that help build confidence, resilience and opportunity for local young people.
