🎉 Challenge complete - 56 miles conquered! 🎉

Congratulations to Phil, Jason, Michael and Liam, who have successfully completed their incredible 56-mile charity walk from Killhope to Durham in support of Marie Curie UK

Over two days, the team tackled the full length of the Weardale Way, covering 56 miles through some challenging terrain, all while raising vital funds for a fantastic cause.

This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of everyone who donated, shared the fundraising page, offered encouragement, or supported the team along the way. Thank you to every single person who helped make this challenge such a success.

Most importantly, the funds raised will help Marie Curie continue providing expert care and support to people living with terminal illness and their loved ones when they need it most.

Everyone at PHS and 0800 Repair is incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

👏 Well done, gents. An outstanding effort for an outstanding cause.

🎉 £750 raised by our amazing colleagues! 🎉

Yesterday, we held a coffee, cake and fundraising day in support of Marie Curie UK, raising an incredible £750.

Colleagues took part in a range of activities throughout the day, including a raffle, guessing games, football scratch cards, a dress-down day, and, of course, plenty of tea, coffee and cake.

The event forms part of our fundraising efforts for Phil, Michael, Jason and Liam, who are taking on a gruelling 56-mile, two-day charity walk in memory of their fathers to raise money for Marie Curie.

Their challenge begins this Thursday, and we're hoping the weather is kind to them along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated and supported the event. With the £750 raised yesterday added to the £4,950 already donated online, our fundraising total now stands at an amazing £5,700.

We'll be sharing updates throughout the week as the team takes on the challenge. We wish them a safe journey and the very best of luck!

There's still time to donate and help us raise even more for this fantastic cause: www.justgiving.com/page/phs-charity-walk

Thank you again for every donation, share and word of encouragement. Your support really does make a difference.

💚 Proud to support the County Durham Pound

We’re delighted to be joining the County Durham Pound as an official Supporter!

The County Durham Pound brings organisations together from across the public, private and voluntary sectors to make sure every pound spent locally creates as much positive impact as possible.

For us, that means supporting local people, communities and opportunities – from employability and skills initiatives to working with schools, community organisations and the VCSE sector.

Our Social Value Manager, Joanne Oakes, recently attended the County Durham Pound Annual Conference, Stronger Together: Connected for Impact, where organisations from across the county came together to share ideas, build connections and explore how we can work together to create even greater social value.

We’re really looking forward to being part of this growing network, sharing good practice and working alongside others who are passionate about making a genuine difference across County Durham.

Together, we can help create stronger communities, greater opportunities and lasting impact 💚

Welcome to October. With Christmas now just around the corner, some of us may already be thinking ahead to the additional pressure and expense that the festive season can bring. On top of this, household energy prices are set to rise in January, hitting millions of households at the coldest time of year and potentially leaving many of us even more out of pocket.

This comes at a time when many people are already struggling to make ends meet. When money is tight, it can be tempting to accept a loan from someone offering quick cash with few questions asked. However, what may seem like a simple solution can quickly become a much bigger problem.

We are aware of videos circulating on social media that were taken at the Newcastle Utilita Arena last night.

PHS, 0800 Repair and Oakes Energy Services do not have a box at this venue. We had a box at the Arena last year, and it appears that those signs have remained in place for the past 18 months.

The people involved were not our guests, and we do not condone the actions of those involved.

We have already contacted the Arena and asked for the signs to be removed.
