Sure you will.

I’ve heard this line more times than I’ve had hot dinners, and about half the time, “either way” quietly turns into “never.”

Look, I get it. Life gets busy. But if you can find twenty minutes for the interview, you can find twenty seconds for a two-line email.

Ghosting a job seeker isn’t just bad manners, it’s also a great way to make sure the person you didn’t hire tells a few of their mates about it. 😅

Nobody’s asking for an essay. Just something. Even a “not this time, but thank you” does more for your reputation than silence ever will.

Consider this your gentle, mildly cheeky nudge to check your inbox for anyone still waiting to hear back. They probably are.

If I see one more job spec asking for a “rockstar who wears many hats in a fast-paced, dynamic environment,” I might actually need a lie down. 🎸😅

What does that even mean? That the office plays music? That everyone owns several types of headwear?

Here’s a radical idea: tell people what the job actually is.

What they’ll be doing on a Tuesday. What “busy” really looks like. What the actual salary is, not a range so wide it could mean anything from “comfortable” to “concerning.”

I promise you, the right people aren’t put off by an honest job spec. They’re put off by one that reads like it was written by a thesaurus having a bad day.

Say what you mean. It works every time, and it’s a lot less exhausting for everyone involved.

Honestly, most of the time they’re not.

The best interviews usually feel more like genuine conversations than rehearsed Q&As.

People tend to come across much better when they:
💬 speak naturally
💬 explain what they’ve actually done
💬 show personality
💬 ask good questions too

Professional doesn’t have to mean robotic 👀

👀 The job seeker who says:
“Let me have a proper think about it…”

…and accepts the offer two hours later.

📧 Refreshing your inbox after an interview like the outcome is going to magically appear quicker.

📄 Reading your own CV back and thinking:
“Who actually wrote this about me?”

☎️ Saying:
“I’m happy where I am.”

…but still wanting to know what the salary is just out of curiosity.

😅 Trying to sound relaxed in interviews while internally replaying every answer afterwards.

Honestly, recruitment conversations are usually far more human than people think.

👀 company culture online

A lot of people are trying to work out what a business actually feels like before applying or accepting interviews.

Today is World Youth Skills Day 👏

A lot of people early in their property careers think they need loads of experience before they can really stand out.

Honestly, that’s rarely the full picture.

Things like:

✔️ communication
✔️ confidence
✔️ reliability
✔️ willingness to learn

matter just as much too.

Everyone starts somewhere, and most careers are built step by step over time.
