At Polyseam, health and safety isn't just about policies and procedures. It's about making sure our people have the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to keep themselves and their colleagues safe.

This week, members of our team completed Fire Marshal Training, delivered by Calderdale Safety Solutions.

The training forms part of our ongoing commitment to workplace health and safety, helping our colleagues understand fire risks, emergency procedures and their responsibilities in the event of a fire.

As a manufacturer of passive fire protection products, we understand the importance of fire safety. And that commitment starts right here, in our own workplace.

We're Hiring!

We're looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at Polyseam in Huddersfield.

You'll play an important role in keeping our manufacturing operations running smoothly, maintaining and repairing equipment, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and helping improve plant reliability and production efficiency.

What we're looking for:
- Apprenticeship-trained in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work as part of a team.

For electrically biased candidates, BS 7671 18th Edition is required.

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Hours: Double-day shift pattern (early and late shifts)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, plus shift allowance.

WE'RE AN ASFP AWARDS 2026 FINALIST! 💚

We're incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for Passive Fire Digital Product or System of the Year at the ASFP Awards 2026!

Although the app launched in January this year, the journey began years earlier, with research, development, testing, and collaboration to understand what the passive fire protection industry really needs.

Our goal was to create a practical digital tool that makes it easier for professionals to find tested firestopping solutions, manage installations and maintain accurate project documentation.

To receive this recognition in our first year since launch is a fantastic achievement and a testament to everyone who has contributed to bringing the app to life.

A huge thank you to our team, development partners and everyone who has supported us along the way.

We're Hiring!

We're looking for an experienced Passive Fire Protection Technical Specialist to join the team at Polyseam and support the continued development of our Protecta technical resources and digital applications.

In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and updating technical handbooks, installation instructions and technical drawings, developing content for our Protecta apps, and providing technical support when required.

What we're looking for:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in passive fire protection and firestopping systems.
- Strong understanding of EN 1366-3, EN 1366-4 and relevant EAD standards.
- Experience producing technical documentation and drawings using CAD or similar software.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.

Location: UK-wide – Remote working available
Salary: Dependent on experience

This is a great opportunity to apply your technical expertise within an established UK manufacturer and contribute to the development of our Protecta range.

From 9–15 October, our colleagues are taking part in the Shooting Stars Cycling Challenge to raise vital funds for Forget Me Not Children's Hospice.

Taking place during Baby Loss Awareness Week, the challenge aims to collectively cycle 4,745 miles — one for each of the 4,745 babies who sadly die during pregnancy or shortly after birth each year in the UK.

Every mile represents a life remembered, and every donation helps Forget Me Not support children and families when they need it most.

Materials need to be procured, received, checked and stored. Production needs to be planned. Products need to be manufactured, packed and presented correctly. Finished stock then needs to be warehoused and prepared for supply to customers.

At Polyseam, these processes connect across our Huddersfield operation:

Planning. Production. Packing. Presentation. Provision.

And behind every stage are people coordinating materials, production schedules, quality, stock, warehousing and logistics to keep products moving through the factory and ultimately to our customers.

When you pick up a cartridge of sealant, you're looking at the end result of a much bigger process.

It’s a reminder that sometimes one of the most important things we can do for another person is simply ask: “How are you, really?”

Su***de can be difficult to talk about, but open and compassionate conversations can help break down stigma and remind people that they don’t have to face difficult times alone.

Not everyone who is struggling will show it. A conversation, a message, taking the time to listen or checking in with a colleague, friend or family member can make a meaningful difference.
