Another job we’ve done ✅

Customer wanted a big feature false chimney with aoak mantle and space for sky/dvd boxes ,the mantle is a reclaimed 12”x12” beam we found in a reclamation yard and sanded it up and we used some American white oak to form we’re the sky/dvd boxes will go we even made a secret compartment behind we’re the tv will go with two sockets in and a tunnel into we’re the sky/dvd boxes are so no wires are seen.
We also made some custom oak window sills and fitted oak doors throughout the house 👍🏻

It’s been a while!

Hope everyone is staying safe in these strange time’s.

We’ve been very busy over the past few months but here’s one of the most recent jobs ... oaks doors fitted throughout this customers house and wood paneling done on one wall in the kitchen to make a feature wall 👌🏻

Had a busy few days!

Customer wanted a raised pond and all the decking replaced ready for summer 2020.

Started off by stripping off all the old decking and taking up what was used as joists so it was cleared off and ready for a fresh start.

Dug down for the pond so it was deep enough so that the water didn’t freeze and kill any fish and then started building it up using 8x4 treated railway sleepers and held together with x2 200mm coach screws on each corner.
Finished off with railway sleepers laid flat on top so that it could be used as somewere to sit & fixed down with the same 200mm coach screws.
Made a triangle hole on the corner of the pond to keep the filter in and dry so it was all hidden from the outside.

Then it was onto the new joists they were treated 4x2’s spanning over the whole area that was going to be the new decking.
posts were concreted in the middle of the joists to stop any bowing.
We also concreted 3 taller posts in that would become the uprights to the small fence.

To save money we re used the original decking boards as they weren’t that old and still in good condition.
After all the decking was completed to finish we chopped the fence posts down to size screwed and glued some post toppers on and finished the fence off with some 4x2.

We’re looking forward to see it all painted up and some fish in the pond with it’s fancy fountain.

Roof part 2.
Got the steel ridge up and on in the morning got it all levelled up & squared up.
All rafters had to mirror the existing roof line & ridge.
All the timber used is 6x2 c24 except the the next side of this roof which will be 9x2 c24.

A follow on from last weeks post.

Decorator has been and painted the porch and as the pictures show from rotting timber ,to being patched & then painted the porch looks brand new again.
Remember it’s cheaper to repair than buy brand new get in touch if you’ve got some repairs on your house you would like sorting.

Another busy few days .... took out 2 rotting timber french doors out the front of the customers porch and replaced it with a nice big 2ft9 hardwood door then made a start on chopping out and replacing any rotten timber I could find.
Nice wide 5” architrave round the door and new beading round all the windows to help the porch last as long as possible.
Same process for the car port doors took the glass out that was broken and boarded it all up.
All sanded and treated ready for the painter to come and do his thing 🎨

Been a busy few days this last week had these beautiful Suffolk solid oak fire doors to fit into our customers newly decorated house combined with the chrome Carlisle handles.

Also been on with fitting the new kitchen but sadly we’re missing a few pieces so that’s to finish in the next few days when everything arrives.
