⚠️ Ed Miliband 's Mad Energy Agenda Is Failing Workers and Communities ⚠️

It’s becoming clearer every day: the government’s approach to the energy industry, led by Ed Miliband, is pushing our communities to breaking point.

First Lindsey Oil Refinery is allowed to collapse, throwing over 1,000 skilled workers and families into chaos.

Now wind companies like Ørsted are announcing massive job cuts too.

This is what happens when energy policy is written with slogans instead of realism.
A “green transition” means NOTHING if:
❌ Oil workers lose their jobs
❌ Renewable workers lose their jobs
❌ Local communities are left with nothing
❌ National energy security is weakened

We’re watching the backbone of our industrial heartlands crumble while ministers insist everything is fine.

Ed Miliband talks about a future of clean energy jobs — but where are they today?
Right now, all we see are:
🔻 Closures
🔻 Redundancies
🔻 Broken promises
🔻 Communities left behind

A real energy strategy supports BOTH the workers of today and the technologies of tomorrow.
Right now, we’re getting neither.

Our message is simple:
Stop sacrificing workers in the name of targets. Start building an energy plan that protects people, jobs, and national security.

We demand that Lindsey oil workers must be furloughed until a buyer is found that preserves jobs and production at the site

The government needs to show workers whose side it is on by furloughing Lindsey’s workforce until a buyer that keeps the refinery fully operational is in place.

Today at 7pm 125 skilled oil workers will have lost their jobs, after being made redundant.

We politely requested, we then demanded and we finally tried to embarrass this poor, inept government The Labour Party to step in and give us a helping hand - we have received NOTHING.

Firstly what do the job losses mean to Lindsey? It means 100's of years of experience running complex refinery units have gone! Re-commissioning the plant will become a mammoth task, due to needing minimum safety critical staffing levels and expertise to run the job right! You can't run a refinery without highly trained experts.

Secondly what we've requested from the government:

🙏 A fair crack of the whip, give us time to sell the Refinery as a going concern

❌️ REJECTED

🙏 Furlough staff in order to retain skills ready to recommission the plant when a full site offer is ready to go.

❌️ REJECTED

🙏 Oversee FTI Consulting and the Official Receiver to ensure there isn't a corrupt back room deal done with Phillips 66

❌️ REJECTED

🙏 Ensure an offer that retains jobs is accepted over an offer that brings in more money for the creditors

❌️ REJECTED

🙏 Work with potential investors to make refining in the UK a lucrative business once again

❌️ REJECTED

🙏 Support us, support our fight for jobs, support our campaign

You guessed it - ❌️ REJECTED.

So by the end of play today our fight has started a slow painful demise...

As a mark of respect for our 125 redundant workers we will enter a week of silence, and black out our profile pictures.

But this isn’t over - not by a long shot, because we've got unfinished business.

For every £1 million of turnover in renewable energy - one job is created.

For every £1 million of turnover in Oil & Gas 15 jobs are created!

In Aberdeen 1 in 6 jobs are related to Oil & Gas - what are those ratios in Immingham, Grimsby, Scunthorpe & surrounding areas??? Is your job under threat when if Lindsey Oil Refinery shuts down??
