Another key milestone has been reached at Global’s new headquarters at Inverness Campus, where Capstone Construction is continuing to make strong progress as principal contractor for the 2,000m² development.

The major plant and equipment has now been installed on the concealed rooftop plant deck, allowing the building services to be fully connected and early testing and commissioning to begin as the project moves into its next stage.

Externally, façade works are nearing completion, with the bespoke cladding panels now being installed to the south-facing elevation, creating the distinctive pixelated finish around the main entrance.

Internally, the fit-out continues to progress, with raised access floors and ceiling systems being installed throughout the office accommodation, meeting rooms and ancillary spaces.

Capstone is proud to be delivering this major new headquarters for Global and, working closely with the wider project team, continues to move the development towards completion later this year.

Capstone Construction has successfully completed an extensive refurbishment programme at Nairn Golf Club, delivering a wide range of external and internal improvements while ensuring the club remained fully operational throughout the project.

Through careful planning and close collaboration with the client, members and visitors continued to enjoy uninterrupted access to the clubhouse, bars, restaurant and wider facilities, allowing the club to maintain its high standard of service while the works progressed.

The refurbishment programme spanned the main clubhouse, starter hut, bothy and cottage, delivering a full range of improvements to enhance both the appearance and functionality of the facilities. Works included the installation of new Accoya windows and external doors, refurbishment of existing joinery, upgraded external finishes, replacement rainwater goods, selective masonry repairs and improvements to the golf shop, alongside the sympathetic restoration of the bothy's traditional stonework and improvements to the cottage. The completed project has improved key areas across the club while preserving the character of the existing buildings.

As young people across Scotland receive their exam results, it is important to remember that there is no single route into a successful career.

To support DYW Scotland’s campaign, members of the Capstone Construction team have shared their own career journeys, from where they started after school to the roles they hold today.

Across the team, those journeys have taken different routes, including apprenticeships, trainee positions, college, university and hands-on experience in the workplace. Each story is different, but together they show that careers do not always follow a straight line.

At Capstone, we are proud to support initiatives that help young people understand the opportunities available across construction and the wider industry. Whether your next step is further education, an apprenticeship, training, work experience or something completely different, there are many ways to build skills, gain confidence and progress.

Your results are part of your journey, but they do not define where that journey can lead.

Capstone Construction was proud to support Breedon’s careers day at Munlochy Primary School, helping pupils gain a practical insight into construction, road safety and geology.

Our team delivered an interactive workshop focused on construction site safety, introducing pupils to the PPE used by construction workers and explaining the important role it plays in helping keep people safe on site.

Pupils then put their teamwork skills to the test by using scaled drawings, tape measures and cones to set out the footprint of a house within the school grounds. Working together, they learned how construction drawings are translated into real-world projects while developing communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Alongside our workshop, Breedon delivered a road safety and logistics session using one of its lorries to demonstrate vehicle blind spots and help pupils better understand cyclist and pedestrian safety around heavy vehicles. Breedon also brought along a geologist, giving pupils the chance to learn more about geology and the materials used within construction.

A big thank you to Breedon and Munlochy Primary School for inviting us to be part of such a valuable event.

At Capstone Construction, we are proud to support initiatives that inspire the next generation and showcase the diverse career opportunities available across construction.

Capstone Construction recently returned to Lochardil Primary School, following the success of last year’s careers day, to deliver another hands-on event helping pupils learn more about the opportunities available within the construction industry.

Pupils took part in a series of interactive workshops designed to encourage teamwork, communication and problem-solving. As part of the day, they worked together on a procurement challenge, reviewing supplier information, comparing pricing, quality and delivery timescales, before selecting the best option for a project.

The activity gave pupils an insight into some of the decision-making that happens behind the scenes in construction, from managing costs to making sure the right materials arrive on site at the right time.

We were also delighted to welcome LAS Plant, who brought along the SPOA Tenstar Plant Simulator. The state-of-the-art simulator gave pupils the opportunity to experience what it is like to operate a digger using professional-grade training technology used throughout the construction industry.

Craig MacLellan, Procurement Manager at Capstone Construction, commented: “It was fantastic to return to Lochardil Primary School following the success of last year’s careers day and once again see pupils engaging so well with the activities.

“These events are a great way to give young people a practical insight into the construction industry, while also helping them build important skills such as teamwork, communication and problem-solving.”

A huge thank you to Lochardil Primary School and LAS Plant for helping make the day such a success.

At Capstone Construction, we are proud to support initiatives that help inspire the next generation and showcase the wide range of careers available within our industry.

Capstone is proud to showcase the recent progress being made at Global’s new Inverness Campus headquarters, with the building now moving closer to becoming wind and watertight.

Following the completion of the initial structural and civil works, attention has now turned to the final stages of the curtain walling and facade installation. As the external elevations near completion, the building’s finished appearance is beginning to come together, marking another important step forward in the delivery of the 2,000 square metre headquarters.

Inside, the future working environment is also starting to take shape. Internal metal-framed partitions are progressing throughout the building, helping to form the open-plan offices, individual offices, meeting rooms, circulation areas, social spaces, gym and full-height open atrium that will support collaboration across the wider Global portfolio.

Mechanical and electrical works are also underway, with high-level containment and ducting being installed to support the building’s power, lighting, fire detection, data, security and HVAC systems. These works are progressing ahead of the installation of the main plant and equipment within the concealed roof deck.

As principal contractor, Capstone is proud to be delivering this key project for Global, supporting the creation of a modern new headquarters based in the heart of the highlands.
