Diggerwork building tips- Basic carpentry.
When laying a wooden deck-
1, leave space between each plank to allow for
Swelling and water drainage, if not, after a winter
They will swell and lift.
2, stagger the plank joints for strength, never lay
The joints in a continuous line.
3, if you have a step or steps onto your deck, remember to fix your step frame to the integral
Frame of the deck before you lay the planks, this
Will give you a lovely finish, and give maximum
Strength in the step area.
