The view from the 360 degree viewing balcony that used to be on top of our Ballycorus Leadmine chimney must have be really special. The balcony was removed long ago for safety reasons. Wonder would it be feasible to restore the viewing area in the future? It would likely be a big DLR tourist attraction.

Still parts of the elegant external spiral cantilever staircase remain. Photo of the chimneys with an American Airlines plane coming into land in the distance taken on Tuesday.

Steps at the bottom were removed to prevent anyone climbing up it.
